They were first with an announcement, when they were far from shipping capacity, twice. The Kirins weren't first in anything except using ARM's latest stock cores.
Akash, 30 Sep 2018Sadly they have stopped unlocking their bootloader. This alone stopped me from buying their phones.Obviously it is really horrible move, no point to buy Android phone which will be useless after few years without custom roms

If it adopted Android earlier like Samsung and other players did, it would be in the top spot now and Samsung and Apple beneath it. Just saying :))

i watch movies on netflix, i play a LOT of games, Pubg being number one and i do a lot of researches.
There's nothing usefull in there as Data so i'm totally ok with it.
simondias99, 30 Sep 2018Counter headline: Nokia bets on Android very lately and dies pretty quickly ;)Nice lie.
Rather than having own OS like apple Nokia chosen very well.
Android is the future where Tim Crook and his loyal dogs doing one mistake after another in few more years even a dog wont bark on apple.
For all haters.
If we compare huawei top phones with any other brands a real life usage proves even more than a benchmark score.
They cameras are top notch the best possible image quality and they get even better over time.
And fo sending data and spying on you. Everycompany doing this.
Once you sign up with terms of agreement and their policy you have no idea which 3rd party program which looks like part of the OS using and sending your ddata and where.
In present world everybody knows you no matter how you look at it.
Just for example a company which spy on 99% of everything just for case of Terrorism but who knows what else they spy for?

First huawei i bought was p6 ,loved it ,after that ,p8 ,mate s now still using p10 plus ,best phones .
Kar, 30 Sep 2018Huawei is cheating in benchmarks ,cameras don't believe themAnd why we should believe you???
Apple is also cheating they claims they use fastest CPU on the planet but in real life usage they preform a lot worse than Qualcomm, Exynos or Kirin.
Had a Huawei Mate 7 global dual sim version (TL10 model) way back in November 2014, which I sold off just this year, but is still running very well up to now in very good condition (almost 4 years later) with no issues under a new owner. Very durable phone. I can't help but be nostalgic about it so spare me some time to talk about it.
The Mate 7 was actually Huawei's breakthrough product that brought the FIRST Chinese sounding smartphone name to the global limelight, long before Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo became popular.
After Apple debuted the fingerprint scanner in the iPhone 5s in September 2013, HTC, Samsung and other Android phone manufacturers actually released knee-jerk products shortly with poorly made fingerprint scanners, which had high rejection rates that nobody ever used them.
It was actually only a full year later, with the release of Huawei's Ascend Mate 7 in October 2014, that THE VERY FIRST SUCCESSFUL fingerprint implementation in an android device came to match the iPhone 5s' fingerprint scanner reliability and accuracy. So during that time, many iPhone 5s/6/6 plus owners would look at my big screen Android device and ask what brand it is because no android device owner then (except for Huawei Mate 7 users) ever used fingerprint authentication.
Anyway, to cut the long story short, the Huawei Mate 7 was not only the first Android device with successful fingerprint implementation, it was also the first flagship phone to offer a huge 6", 16:9 screen, with HYBRID dual SIM and LTE capability and huge 4100mAh battery all in a SINGLE device. Sure there was the bigger 6.4" Xperia Z ultra or the 6.2" Galaxy Mega back then but they offered less. Only the Mate 7 offered flagship grade specs with a huge 6" screen, a successful fingerprint scanner implementation, a hybrid dual sim with LTE, and a huge 4000mAh battery. And yes, it had FM radio and a headphone jack too. It's 4100mAh battery has lost some capacity but it still makes it through a heavy day of use without charging unlike the other flagship phones then. It's for this reason that I strongly advice against below 4000mAh sealed batteries if you want your phone to last a long long time. Removable battery is best but when it's no longer offered, 4000mAh and higher capacity sealed batteries are the next best anti-obsolescence choice, as are micro sd card storage expansion.
Had 2 Ascend P1's and I loved them very much.Gave my wife one and she used it as a daily driver, she says she must have dropped it at least 10 times or more,no cracks or anything.Lovely rubbery matte finish on back.Had the Ascend P6 too, incredible build and slim as can be.Got many compliments on that phone.Miss it .Bought the P9 recently cuz the price is better now.Hated it.Can't stand the EMUI now,Lockscreen notifications and music controls were difficult to set up and or didn't work at all..Notification LED was so dim that it was practically useless unless u were in a pitch black room.I wouldn't mind having a P1 again just for fun.Never ever saw a P1 S for sale anywhere though.
Anonymous, 30 Sep 2018I guess this is in 'Night Mode'. Yes, night mode is amazing. You don't have to go into the Night Mode if the lighting conditions permit. It's auto mode is more than enough to handle low light situations, even beat to the most expensive iPhone XS today. Yes, the downside of P20 Pro is lacking of stabilization for 4K videos, which I seldom use at all. 1080p is enough for media consumption imo.
