DxO again skewed the test, they're almost certain to be paid by Huawei. Their own samples show vastly superior texture of the XS compared to P20P(most flagship phones of last generation all have better texture than P20P which smears and oversharpens, with possible exceptions being the 3 LG's on the native camera app and the latest Sony) yet it's only rated 2 points higher, while noise is rated 11 points lower, LMFAO. They rate the zoom at ridiculous 5x and 8x magnifications for sharpness and noise yet the XS at native optical 2x has a notable advantage in color reproduction and especially DR which they entirely sidestep. The bokeh component was done in entirely different situations rendering cross-comparison impossible, and the XS was rated 10 points lower. The "flash" component took a huge hit, yet I, as an enthusiast who's shot full frame for 4 years and 3 years APS-C before that, never use phone flash, and no professional review (except for the now questionably professional DxO) ever mentioned phone flash. This is how the XS lost, at DxO. Go read GSMArena's own review for a more proper evaluation. Anandtech also did a great job again.

sony xz, 05 Oct 2018sony killed your huawei in real and more natural image day and night with just dual camera set upNope. Experience both phone. In photography, P20 are superior. Especially low lights, XZ2 premium still plague with those overblown highlights. Colors are acceptable when P20 Master AI turned off. And XZ2 still cannot beat the Night Mod handheld, 3x & 5x hybrid zoom, that thing is just impressive! Nevertheless XZ2 is top 2 camera phones in my opinion, still excellent.
On videography, XZ2 triumph, no question about it. But as for me, i'll prefer photography over videography as i take pics daily. So still P20 pro for me.

I'm just happy to see Huawei at the top. I wonder if even the Pixel 3 will be able to top it... (probably not, because it does not have a telephoto camera).
This only makes me more excited for the Mate 20 Pro. It might end up being the same as P20 Pro though... but i have an inkling it'll be even better. :D

Time and again it has been proven that Apple is not the best in the smartphone realm.
Apple has a lot of money to pay that makes the iPhone XS Max the second best smartphone for snapping pictures and shooting videos in DxOMark's ranking.

everybody puts iPhone up on a high mountain. Now i not going slag them off. but at the end of the day. they a mash of different companies. so if they were an android device it would be say Galaxy S7 or Sony XZ1 or LG G6. put a apple badge on it. Charge £1000 people will but into it. now if you want to charge £1000 i want a 4k OLED screen. Leica lens camera setup. fast charging and wireless charging. 6GB of ram. 2.6 GHZ Octocore CPU.

as a P20 pro owner. yes i agree. but also say the camera is pretty much the best in the world. for stills. The video i will say is average. no OIS on 4k or 60fps like all other phones today. what were Huawei thinking. i tend to shoot 1080p @60FPS as this looks crisp. and no shaky video.
