Yes Nokia is a good brand will give fast updates.
But Nokia ain't Chinese so you say to make the prices down and how they started are good and their phones getting outsold like the Oneplus.
Yes they do with their software but, not yet, they didn't start to do their software work.
Step by Step they're getting the market and it's all a nostalgic effect.
Yes the 7.1 has a hideous notch and chin but how durability and great and clean software are makes the people buy.
Nokia will wipe the Chinese out trust on that. Because it's not about specs, it's about everything.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the "great" work that the developers of the 'pseudo' HMD Nokia did today:
They presented a new phone that supposedly is an evolution, the 7.1, and in the end the result is that it is a copy of 6.1 (X6) which in theory was inferior .... but it is THE SAME.

Nokia is digging its own grave, is totally dead, about innovation, in designs, without any technological innovation, not contributing anything to the Android market.
The future is Xiaomi, Huawei, OnePLus, Oppo .... Nokia is the past, and is currently dead, in fact it died with Symbian.
I'm sorry, Nokia-Fanboys, my deepest condolences.
That chin is really ugly though, with the Nokia logo on it too. Am I the only that finds it ugly?
Anonymous, 04 Oct 2018I don't get the naming convention. The notch phones are X.1 plus. So this should be 7.1 plus, ... moreThe X is just for China.

Nobody ever said that was a "rule" or "convention".
This ain't the phoenix folks.

Both iOS and Android are quite matured systems, that every new feature is basically in-house solution for already existing 3rd party feature. Security updates might be needed, but main software updates are not my concern if everything works fine for everyday use. So the only things I care in a smartphone are good hardware and good user experience. If those are good, then a software update is not a concern.
Pabliell, 04 Oct 2018That's true, but there's one more thing. Nokia phones tend to get cheaper pretty fast, so this... moreAnd thats why I bought a Nokia 8 last month for a bit less than 350 usd.
No Nokia phone at this price range is good enough
Anonymous, 04 Oct 2018Sony brings BACKGROUND DEFOCUS, other copy. Sony brings AR, copied Sony uses rear and ... moreBlurred backgroung (with just one camera) and AR were used at Nokia first.
Pretty decent phone though I was expecting PureDisplay to be something more than a notched panel
I don't get the naming convention. The notch phones are X.1 plus. So this should be 7.1 plus, but it's 7.1 but the non notched phones are X.1? So what do you call the successor to the current 7 plus?
Err, with those specs, whats the difference with nokia x6?
Pabliell, 04 Oct 2018That's true, but there's one more thing. Nokia phones tend to get cheaper pretty fast, so this... moreIn hardware terms you are absolutely right. But that two year flagship will be at the end of its software and security update cycle. Obviously, that is the plan. With the massive fragmentation, things are going just as planned for Google, telcos and Android OEMs. I don't understand the fascination for Pixels and Nokias Android Ones either. They have a two year update cycle like most other mid range to flagship Androids. I am no fan of Apple hardware, but when a 2013 iPhone 5s gets the latest update and runs smoothly in 2018, that is when you realise the high prices and why used iPhones retain their value. Instead on notches and glass backs, I wish Android OEMs would copy this aspect of Apple and release fewer, higher value, well supported devices. Instead of something like this 7.1 Plus which is nearly the same as the 6.1 Plus. More content for landfills.

Read less of the rumors and trust less of them as they are rumors. If i want it cleaner i would set something like Pixel Experience on it and will have it as a android 9 pie if i really would need it and want it.
Yawn...
Awful offering by Nokia. Awful chin, awful notch, awful specs, awful price.
I’ll be purchasing a Sony this year.
Sony brings BACKGROUND DEFOCUS, other copy.
Sony brings AR, copied
Sony uses rear and front cam, copied
Sony creates scene recognition, already copied
Sony records 960 fps, copied too.
XZ2 has SDR to HDR, already been copied.
I bet Samsung is the next. And will advertise as new feature never seen before..
