Zendroid, 10 Oct 2018The game mode means absolutely nothing, when the phone doesn't have the battery to back it up.... moreNice try but you fail
So almost nothing different and the note9 still remains the best gaming phone
Josh, 10 Oct 2018This is a gaming phone!! Not a Music phone. Am sure most gamers won't care about the 3.5mm jack.Well you're wrong. Statistically and logically speaking, gamers DO CARE about the 3.5mm jack and they prefer to have decent sound output coming from wired headphones. They are just like the TRUE audiophiles. They may go for Asus ROG phone if they want a gaming phone all because it has a 3.5mm jack for convenience.
I won't buy this phone until I see JerryRigEverything try to bend it, and see battery life performance by Xeetechcare. And maybe a hands-on impression by GSMArena (improved buttons?).
Besides, those huge bezels and lack of headphone jack are already major turn offs.
And its expensive. So we will have to see. There's competition coming in the way of the ASUS RoG Phone and the Xiaomi Poco F1.
rizki1, 10 Oct 2018please, anyone who releases the latest gaming cellphone just give physical buttons like xperia playI wish but in reality it's not profitable. Most mobile games are designed for touchscreen, and most phone users are casual scrubs who want a phone first not a console. So there aren't enough sales of hardware controls. IMO the next step will be small (fits in a pocket) attachable controllers like the Switch for phones. Then the gamers get hardware controls and can attach it to future phones.
Zendroid, 10 Oct 2018The game mode means absolutely nothing, when the phone doesn't have the battery to back it up.... morei use mine to game all the time, i get many hrs of game play, and if your gaming on your phone for 5 hrs or more you need to rethink your life.

You forgot to mention that the rog phone is still not available for sale. Not even after 9 months since revealed.
Whackcar, 10 Oct 2018Disagreed. By your logic, the Pocophone F1 also has a SD845 & costs only $300... but in re... morethe s9 has gaming tools integrated, 4gb of ram is fine, if your mobile game is using 8gb of ram which it is definitely not even remotely close to using. and the screen is more than adequate. its the fact that these companies are charging future tech prices for tech thats been out since march. with enough looking i could probably find an s9+ for 700 which is an amaing deal considering the hardware is still pretty much equal to the razor phone.
Apart from the IGZO LCD 120 Hz display, this phone is nearly the same as Poco for triple the price. No thanks.
Kiyasuriin, 10 Oct 2018While I do agree. Cheaper doesn't NECCESARILY MEAN better. Many of these 500€ phones don't hav... moreIm sorry but most cheaper phones still offer a headphone jack, while also some expensive phones don't offer nfc...while NO phone offers a screen smaller 5,3" anymore, which is a shame. You can get everything in a phone for less than 500 if you look at the right places and don't just trust advertisement. To make it short: cheap and expensive phones do suffer the same politics, so I would always go for the cheaper once that offer mostly the same specs. I personally never use nfc...I think my phone doesnt even offer it, but i never checked...lol
Anonymous, 10 Oct 2018Still no 3.5mm jack on Razer Phone 2, Razer might come with BS that with jack gone since Raxer... moreThis is a gaming phone!! Not a Music phone. Am sure most gamers won't care about the 3.5mm jack.
Anonymous, 10 Oct 2018exactly, an s9 on amazon is only 600$ and it has the same cpu which is really all that matters... moreDisagreed. By your logic, the Pocophone F1 also has a SD845 & costs only $300... but in reality, it's just a overrated mid-range phone that cannot be compared to these flagships.
The S9 is a great phone, but a gaming-centric device needs to have a large display, stereo speakers, great performance, high amount of RAM/Storage & a good battery life. Additional gaming software &/or hardware features are welcome but not necessary to classify as a gaming phone IMO.
The S9 has the latest Snapdragon SoC, but lacks everything else. It only has 4GB of RAM. It's 5.8" 18:9 panel is much smaller than Razer's 5.7" 16:9 panel. The Razer Phone has a better battery life when you use it on 90FPS mode & a much better battery life on 60FPS mode.
So overall, i wouldn't classify the S9 as a gaming phone. S9+ could classify though, but it would still be lacking in some ways.
I hope they have improved the battery optimisation.
The Razer Phone had an atrocious battery endurance, even from it's 4000 mAh battery.
Apart from the IGZO LCD 120 Hz display, this phone is nearly the same as Poco for triple the price. No thanks.
Wew. So Razer Phone 2 still have the Sharp IGZO LCD 120hz display which is superior, same body type as before because of the compatibility for that one Razer project, RGB! and still has the superior full bezel speaker that can make everyone hear you game which is a blast to hear.
But the downside was having iP67. Sony had an exceptional stereo speakers only to be ruined by being Water Resistant. The rubbers that made it iP67 really dampens the sound so I fear about Razer's sound quality.
It sucks that Razer is doing a glass monolith design because you know, glass is slippery and we gamers have sweaty hands for those intense moments. It would be nice if the glass is covered in matte.
I heard they had to keep the Phone size as same as previous one due to kind of last Year's docking stuffs to be accommodated with the 2nd gen as well...
But that doesn't mean to keep the Phone way identical? They should have gone ahead and could have increased the screen size and overall bazels by keeping the same size of the Phone...
Lets see the Launch for more details ahead...
