Walter C. Dornez, 11 Oct 2018Yeah, because it's cheaper that wayhow about 'sample' =(samsung and apple)?why are their phones price them like you've buy a motor basic motor already?well in fact they are manufactured in china.

Many components within the phones these days have... moreTotally agree with you man!
Just recently a friend of mine was considering changing his old galaxy s5 for something newer simply because the battery was horrible. But after taking my advice and trying a new battery he feels much better and will probably hold his phone for another year or so since he does not require very much and even the old s5 can suffice most tasks.
sgreg, 11 Oct 2018it's not Chinese it's FinlandFinland is just the name and some shareholders. All the actual Nokia phones are engineered, designed only by chinese team of HMD.
sgreg, 11 Oct 2018it's not Chinese it's FinlandHMD Global most certainly is a Chinese operation. Ikea is registered in the Netherlands, does that make it Dutch?
Aslipundit, 11 Oct 2018Not this garbage again.. groan. Tired of refuting this bs in thread after thread.
They are... moreThere are only few ex-Nokians. Ex Nokians worked for Microsoft and working for Huawei. Does it make those companies finnish? You can register your company wherever you want. Where from did starting money come and why there's HMD company in China? May be coincidence but i doubt.
I bet you are one of those who believe that Google is collecting data only to improve their products.
SpiritWolf, 11 Oct 2018Money talks. You can register your company where you want, nowadays. Not this garbage again.. groan. Tired of refuting this bs in thread after thread.
They are made of up of ex Nokia employees and registered in Finland. Manufacturing is in China like literally EVERY phone.
Iphones are manufactured where exactly? By who? The same company that manufactures Blackberry devices.
ShockieUK, 10 Oct 2018Nothing wrong with Oreo but would have been better if launched with Pie for future proofing. ... moreSince Nokia offers 2 years (not 2 updates) of major updates, this will most likely receive Android R as-well since Pie has launched this summer. +1 year of security updates makes it even better.
The heck, I thought Nokia was a Finland company as it's headquarters is based on Finland. If it's a Chinese phone than I probably won't buy it due to spying issues. Is this phone going to be release in North America?
Again, my accurate prediction! 7.1 Plus will come with Snapdragon 710! The regular 7.1 should've come with 660, though.

r33fd, 10 Oct 2018Why would they make the battery smaller ?
I see no logic in this. The logic is simple: Planned obsolescence
Many components within the phones these days have MTBFs much closer to just 36 months, only the SoC will outlast everything on the PCB.
How else can they force you to upgrade more often? The only way to stop this cancerous trend is to have govts enforcing strict zero tolerance regulations. Smartphones and wireless accessories have started accumulating way too much e-waste in the 2-3 years and the problem is about to get worse with this use and throw mindset companies want to force on the public.
SpiritWolf, 11 Oct 2018Nokia phones (well, most of them) were premium. Haven't seen anything premium in HMD Global ga... moreTrue. It's not the old Nokia that I was waiting for their huge comeback. Trash cameras, mid to low specs on a high price (Samsung inspiring pricing), and HMD Global.
