I don't get it. $350 for a phone-looking thing that can't do anything on its own

This is so dumb. The same experience (notification) can be achieved with a smartwatch for less and with a ton better user experience. For $350, you can get the Pocophone F1 and still saves $50. Nobody cares about this by next week.

ArxMaverick, 16 Oct 2018So you can't call, text, watch any videos, no 3.5mm jack, a laughable battery, I'm not really ... moreIt is essentially a waste of resources that make our planet even more uninhabitable than it is.

The only good things in this is the USB-C port and the IP68 water and dust resistance to be honest...

But instead of trying to fix the biggest issue of phones, which are weak and small batteries,
they make this pointless rare-earth mineral wasted junk...

No point even pairing this crap with your SMARTPHONE in the first place...

What do you need to do -- studies/training/education/family connections -- to get to be in the position of the person who thought of this and gets paid for it?

But then, what do I know. I thought the idea of an all glass, sealed, fragile phone or a social media portal where people post and react to posts to be something nobody would fall for.

Walter C. Dornez, 16 Oct 2018Nani the heck? Just let Palm make a compact flagship TCL!We dont need compact flagships as there have been years of these compact flagships from Sony. We need middle class and low end of these compacts. From Aliexpress you can find compact phones like Anica I8 but they are a bit to low hardware and cost around 50 euro too only,

The Unihertz Jelly PRO failed, which had better specs and a smarter Kickstarter Launch, and so will this.

You can buy $99 Chinese phones better than this.

So you can't call, text, watch any videos, no 3.5mm jack, a laughable battery, I'm not really understanding the point of this thing. A featurephone is better at that point.

IPhone SE was a hit because it didn't lack features and power, small phones with low end or midrange just don't sell.

its great companies are dabbling into the small phone market and not forgetting the small phone lovers..
but the issues with this phone is that it has midrange specs at best, screen needs to be at least 4inch these days and lacks features...no nfc for example.
