Really interested in this one.. really nice specs for the prize.. only thing that worries me is my bad experience with lenovo. I have lenovo tab s8, disastrous battery, and 9 circles of hell with bugs and lagging...
partha313, 01 Nov 2018And what about notifications securityWhat are you talking about?
It still has FP scanner for security.
there're some vs video on youtube already.
the bezel on top and chin are indeed noticeable smaller than mix 3. but not exactly like their ads poster.
hopes there are setting to customize the sliding, so far from launch event, it show few scenario what sliding could do but not activate rear camera, that's the function i want. anyway, im quite the big fan of these 3 slider phone that release recently.

It's our fault that we continue buying these ridiculously sized phones. Very soon they will introduce an STB of 100 percent with a 10 inch screen with a complimentary back pack to carry it in and a mechanical pair of hands to hold it. And this will be the mini/lite version.

Absolutely Awesome.
Awesome price.
Awesome specs for my needs.
Awesome screen (though I would have preferred a 5.8"-6" instead)
I only need to know about the build quality of the slider mechanism. is it magnet assisted like the Mix3? That would be amazing as it will stand well to the test of time.
Can't wait for an actual review.

Marco M, 01 Nov 2018"There is no such patent by apple." Yes there is. WO2016114996A1 - Flexible display panel wi... moreYes you are right, i have seen it and replied to my own message below. As i said, its not just a lets bend the screen.
The bottom screen area i.e. chin is the place which is used by display (touch-screen) controller. All Android mobile phones require a ribbon at the bottom to connect the mobile display to the main board. That's why all Android phone companies are forced to keep the chin at the bottom.
Now you can ask why iPhone X doesn't contain any bezel or chin at bottom? The answer is that iPhone X uses a flexible/bendable display screen which folds towards the back thus moves the ribbon connection to the back and removes the limitation to have a chin.
Now you may ask again if iPhone X can use the flexible display to remove the chin, why Android mobile phones don't follow the same strategy? The reason is the price! Using flexible display will increase the overall cost of the mobile phone and not all mobile phone companies can use flexible display in their low-cost mobile phones. That's why iPhone X costs so much, now you know it.
You have to slide it open every time you want to hear stereo. That and the 710 is the reason I am ordering the Meizu 16th as I write this.
Well, it wasn't bad for a full screen phone with UD fingerprint reader, and 6GB of RAM with 128GB storage for less than $350, man.
And you don't have to worry about the slider for front facing camera if you don't take photos of yourself ( alot or at all). Then just use a case to cover the whole phone up.

Yes there is. WO2016114996A1 - Flexible display panel with bent substrate
It is also related to their patent 9,504,124 called Narrow border displays for electronic devices.
"I only found that the reason they dont do it is cost and phone space."
That is only trolling by apple fanboys trying to make it seem like cost is the issue, and hence defending the overpriced iphone, when it really isn't.
i believe that the chin might be larger irl... maybe i wrong, maybe i just dont trust lenovo anymore.. however, the price seem very competitive.. hoping this will have a global release version under moto brand.

I only found that the reason they d... moreActually i am wrong and a patent exists but it was filed in 2011 and its not just lets fold the screen to avoid a chin. From reading a bit the patent number 8804347 it seems they have invested money to figure out ways to avoid distortion and quality loss from the bending. So Lenovo eg to eliminate the chin will either have to spend cash to figure out how to do it properly or copy the exact method apple did it. Either way lenovo wouldn't be able to offer us today such a low price if they wanted to remove the chin.

Here's how i would rate these three...
In terms of overall specs:
Honor Magic 2 > Mi Mix 3 > Lenovo Z5 Pro
In terms of value for money:
Lenovo Z5 Pro > Mi Mix 3 > Honor Magic 2
In either case, the Mi Mix 3 sits somewhere in between. All three of these phones are excellent offerings from their respective companies though!
