Hi, can someone tell me please... today I buy samsung s3 and how can see that I have exynos processor? On quadrant benchmark info pad say that is: hardware:SMDK4X12...
Everything work ok, but iam confused about that... how can check is exynos processor in my phone???
april 2012....non 2013..
if you look on pc benchmarks there is a tab saying cpu technologie-x nm,now the average number for pcs is 45,exynos has 32,a quad architecture means real pc power and less battery usage.Or else shiny smooth os and software on a 1080p or more res screen and goodbuye apple fashion...
Galaxy S3? Which means April 2013 for North America. Can't wait!
Anonymous, 23 Nov 2011who cares about quad cores, if my iphone 4s wont be able to catch 3g/4g where I need it and it... morelol.seriously who cares about 1.5 ghz when all u have is stuff like angry birds to use.i mean people should come with a way use these cpu's effectively.
who cares about quad cores, if my iphone 4s wont be able to catch 3g/4g where I need it and its battery will last for a day lol Im going back to my nokia 6100, phones worth more than a car with quad cores .... and you playing angry birds on them. Waste of money waste of time...
I'm waiting for eink cell phone.i don't like irritating display.amoled is just over saturated display with bluish color.i want 1 ghz single core, eink color display.atleast 1500mah battery,8mpcamera with front facing one, micro sd slot ,4-4.5incher.3g not 4g,
This would br great for most of smartphone users.
So many comments and nobody cared if they would actually need a quad-core in their phones.
Well... to tell the truth not all need Intel i5 processors, but in a PC and it's kinda obvious. But in a tablet/smartphone for me this is a giant flop!
OK, you could connect a BT KB and mouse and play Crysis 5 via HDMI on it. :D
gsmfreak, 22 Nov 2011Isn't hTc also working on a quad core?No HTC isn't a chip developer. They are just an assembler.
gsmfreak, 22 Nov 2011Isn't hTc also working on a quad core?HTC uses processors from various companies. They don't develop processors.
Isn't hTc also working on a quad core?
Bill, 22 Nov 2011Buddy, times change, especially the Phone industry since 2007. It ain't slowing down for your ... moreTimes change we know that...OS and softwares' FULL HW optimizations hasn't...by much. If anything we're getting shittier codes, "packaged" by so-called OFFICIAL stances that things will get "regular update" intervals when it's really no more a beta product with promised patches. That was the point from our buddy my friend. It's the same fundamentals' debate carried over from PC's multicore computing and x86 vs. AMD64 bits. It's ongoing for a good reason. Too much firepower on smaller calibers so to speak.
No one's crying foul about chipmakers' ability to beat or meet Moore's law. We just wish that the point in doing that would be well met by the necessary and practically useful lines of code. That's all and I think that's a fair expectation. Wasting BILLIONs on chip R&D just for the heck of making the numbers resulted in...e.g:- Intel Atoms. The thing can barely run Win 7 Ultimate 32 w/o breaking into tears. Pop any desktop Linux distro on it and voila all of a sudden things are way way faster? Something's wrong there for sure...
For another example, I just discovered that there's barely TWO iinm (yes the quantity 2) media player apps in Android Market with HW acceleration + multicore support. That should paint you a picture.
Oh and about PCs? Aside from 1 or 2 very very HW spec demanding games just to move more pixels (and that's assuming those titles are for everyone?), what's the massively critical number of practical applications available today that the average user can take notice of?
/sent from my SGS2 I9100G
OMG just add a Mali-T604 and you've got yourself a winner!
AnonD-16334, 21 Nov 2011not 6 ,16 lol we cant sum.its value..itd speed will be at 1.5ghz always..but able to carryout ... moreBuddy, times change, especially the Phone industry since 2007. It ain't slowing down for your sake, has it occured to you that these speeds may benefit most people much like faster broadband.
I hope Samsung will NOT sell these chips to Apple so that they will not say, "iPhone 5, this changes the world, with it's quad core chip the A6... Blah blah blah blah blah..." So hope u gsmarena bloggers or reporters or even reviewers who are ALWAYS bias on the Apple products with not also be with the other people brainwashed by apple company!
In terms of batter power/consumption, the following article will definitely make us happy. A new technology/modification to the Li-Ion battery; allowing up to 10 times its charge.
Again a very powerful and a great innovation even at 1.5ghz it will compete with higher coreeeasily!! but still they say this is not the tech fr gs3 it wil get the smart big LITTLE innovation which will switch between high and low cores respectively samsung will rule 2012 too!!!
AnonD-11459, 21 Nov 2011All hail the quad core chip! .... Meh! It would be better if someone would make a 4000mah batt... moreConsidering we'll probably see this chipset in tablets, the battery WILL actually be 4000+mAh, so no worries.
How about 7000mah battery for a mobile phone? Huh?! That would be a masterpiece of decade.
