        Anonymous, 21 Nov 2011Rp. 4,599,000? Blame it on my ignorance but someone better clarify this:How valueless is the I... moreNot only you buddy who wonder the rate/valueless of rupiah (Rp)... even me, i have visited Haiti where the rate is about 40 Gourdes per US$ 1 compared to its neighborhood country : Republica Dominicana , which is 7 times better than Haiti with the rate only a bit different, around 38 Peso / US$ 1. Visiting and experiencing the big Indonesia with their size the same big as US, with 250 million people (good target for marketing your smart-phone/feature-phone) and the 'big' Jakarta , Indonesia's capitol city , 10 times better than Haiti, the rate is Rp. 9000 per US$ 1 !! you can go to anywhere here n you'll find GSM coverage everywhere ! you can have 5 hrs or more flight travel without crossing the border, n still GSM coverage there...!

          lol, 21 Nov 2011i cant find one single selling point for a blackberry..one single reason, category or similar.... moreHaha! Although your analogy about the computer for learning about veggies a little overexaggerated (funny one, though..) i have to agree that BB is popular there because of hype and peer pressure.. not mentioning the ignorance regarding BBM, of which you can get a similar, or even better services with 3rd party app like whatsapp..

          It's very similar like here in Singapore, where everyone uses iPhone..

          Me, neither BB nor iPhone.. sticking with my android.. cus that's what suits me best.. but, nonetheless, we have to remember that no matter what the brand is, all smartphones are still great.. just remember NASA put men in the moon with computers less powerful than our smartphones of today.. kinda..

We have 100 as our smallest number. 1$ = 9000 so 100 is like our 1 cent. The largest number on cash is 100.000, some corrupt government change the money value like ages ago and we're stuck with this overly large number. Hope it wont go up again.

                    Before turning of the century, a dollar is about Rp. 2500 and it goes over 20k for a while. It has been strengthening lately and has seen worse days.

                      Those 50% discount items ? Many will quickly ends up in classified forums sold for profit. And I bet a portion of the peoples lining up and doing all nighter is also employee of phone shop ordered by their boss to get the special price for extra profit when they sell it back "brand new in box"

                        i cant find one single selling point for a blackberry..one single reason, category or similar..strong point where it out matches an android or wp or apple...blackberry is just hype. weak hardware, weak model range, i don't even want to start about the software, it looks like it belongs on one of those laptops for 2-3 year olds for learning math by counting bunnies and vegetables. lol

                          Indonesia is a qwerty n messenger mania place, mentioning 'RUPIAH' by gsmarena? They forgott 2 mentioning 'MAHAL'. Many greater handset out there with that price, but its a matter of taste, style n prestise. Good not great.

                            Yeah, BB still the hype in Indonesia... remind me of Nokia. Nokia E90 Communicator got first release in Indonesia because at the time, Indonesia hold #1 position at Nokia sales chart. Look Nokia now...

                            Does RIM BlackBerry will have the same fate as Nokia?

                                  First timer I see GSM Arena listed price in Rp (Rupiah), Indonesian money (;

                                  It's not in vain they called Indonesia "blackberry nation"

                                  We are love to chat among friends here via bbm, like no other nation on earth! lol....

                                  No surprise RIM launch any new device here..

                                        this won't change their status in the mobile world. they better do something much more productive than this or they could lose their investors.
