they should focus on the n9 and maybe get meego back it is an amazing platform i own an n9 for me it is better than android and ios go back nokia and support n9 and meego
to nokia, you better focus to your symbian phone and stop making wp7 phone now, people dont like wp7 coz its really boring and dumb os..
AnonD-14174, 22 Nov 2011AFAIK Nokia hasn't started selling the device in all countries or regions yet. Once it comes t... moreAPAC wont increase sales of the Nokia 800, not when you consider we actually got the awesome N9 and that handset is very hard to find to buy outright in mobile shops (on contract through carrier its a different story).
Nokia's main problem was they promised MeeGo to the loyal fans and ended up shafting them with WP7.5 an OS that has failed badly in many places like Australia and South East Asia to attract buyers.
Seriously, when a 1st Gen WP7 device like Omnia 7 can basically out perform the Nokia 800 then their are serious issues going on that Nokia have yet to figure out.
The sad thing in all this is that Elop started a war when he stupidly said at Nokia World the following:
"The worlds first real Microsoft WP7 device", what a total moron for saying that when you consider it was the likes of Samsung, LG and HTC that launched WP7 for Microsoft ... you would of though that pissing off those handset makers was not a wise choice ... a war that Nokia can't possibly win and if this report is to be correct that the Nokia 800 can only be considered as a total fail.
Elop should be sacked and the new CEO should tell the developers "all hands on deck for MeeGo" right away as that is Nokia's future and not some silly OS that other brands are selling where Microsoft control what you can and cant do with it and where the hackers are bypassing certificates to allow access of "Nokia Only Apps" onto other Wp7 devices.
All this could of been avoided if Elop did not start a silly war by making that stupid claim about the Nokia 800 being the worlds first real Wp7 device.
Before this partnership came up, sales of Nokia smartphones was very low, and all Microsoft attempts at a mobile platform failed to pick up sales. Why expect these two together to be any different. I loved my Nokia before, but I won't call this a true Nokia without Symbian. Why Windows? Even on the PC Microsoft made very heavy OS, but succeed only through good marketing. Keep Symbian and improve it! There are only two reasons to love Nokia: excellent hardware and Symbian (excellent platform). Anything else is not a true Nokia.
I don't think Nokia should have lead their WP7 lineup with a midrange phone.
I'm still confident things will pick up and their Lumia series - and the MS partnership - will do well.
Well of course! It was expected, the device sucks.
WP7 is gonna need a looooooooot more development to make it.
AnonD-11222, 22 Nov 2011so who r u fruit fan or robot fan and you have so much time in your life to visit 800 stores a... moreOh..one Nokia fan still left:)) I tought they are all gone..looking for the small green robot:)) The last mochican fighting with windmills:)))) Man..you lost the battle looong time ago..,since you launch N97 mini..N8 E7..and few more examples of Nokia s arrogance:))) And i dont mean they were soo bad phones,NO! They were not too bad for low to mid end smart phone.. The arrogance came with the prize, ending up close to 600 eu in the launch time..(samsung galaxy s2 is that much, and no Nokia can match)..so with 2 words..you can go cry to your mum..for a new phone..,i guess Android:)))
Someone I have ever heard of gives us predictions like this? I guess he's just another Nokia hater... How in the world could HE know how much the phone is going to sell? From what I've read, the Lumia 800 was #1 in the top 50 pre-ordered phones in France. Also when that phone hits the shelves in Finland, well, people in Finland know Nokia and they don't even need to be familiar with the OS and they'll buy it. The people know that Nokia will not lead them to bad paths...
Sack Stephen Elop, 22 Nov 2011Everyone knew this would happen, especially Stephen Elop. Nokia needs to kick him out and get ... moreTotally i agree with you,Nokia wanted some investement an Mr Elop worked for company that helped them out with Symbian,an Nokia knew he had some link with Microsoft, so Nokia thought at last someone to get us some investment an help with there software problems, but he wasn"t bothered really helping Nokia out but to help Microsoft compete in the Mobile market an Computer market like Apple succesfully ended up doing, an downgrading Nokia so Microsoft can takeover Nokia ,
Nokia its over you are doomed i knew already this not gonna work because Mobile OS Giants like APPLE IOS and Androids ruling the market there is no other sign of other OS sorry Nokia you are FIRED r FINISHED !!!!
There are some people (e.g. me) who want the phone (two actually) but can't at the moment. Because:
1. The phone's not released in Australia yet, and
2. It's not exactly available unlocked SIM-free to import from the UK
So blame yourself Nokia ...
Everyone knew this would happen, especially Stephen Elop. Nokia needs to kick him out and get a real leader, not a microsoft agent. He's been plotting against Nokia since day one, making them hemorrhage money so that it would make it an easy take over by Micro$oft.
Windows let the Windows Mobile 6 community alone and started a totally new WP7 system. I'll never believe in Microsoft for their mobile phone software again. Nokia decided to go with the wrong system... bye bye Nokia..
noboby Wants wp7. its all about black berry, Android and ios. Nokia is doom and I don't care lolololololol. HTC 4 life!!!!!
Bappi, 22 Nov 2011Google & Android is killing Nokia.WP7 is totally becoming backdated. They should try with A... moreActually, people need to be introduced to WP7.
Everyone is used to Android and ios, but once they see how good WP7 is, then Nokia will pick up steam.
Nokia and Microsoft have been so behind the smartphone curve, that people are just not aware of the advances that they have made.
So, give it time...and try it out...before commenting.
I'll make that phone mine at any cost , even if that means waiting for it's price to drop off and nokia make no profit out of it!!..
The only option left to nokia is to start producing android phones.I don't understand how they missed it?/?
Even a child would understand that.Nokia phones are among the best in the market, android would really suit them.
Bappi, 22 Nov 2011Google & Android is killing Nokia.WP7 is totally becoming backdated. They should try with A... moreNokia's stubborn insistence on Symbian put it behind the curve, terminally so. The years Nokia spent flailing from Symbian to Maemo to Symbian3 to MeeGo to Windows 7 ruined things. WP7 is pretty much DOA. The big tiles mean you must scroll more. The big fonts labels in open apps mean you must scroll more. Pretty but not practical. It's really coming down to apps & integration. Android corners the market on customization. Apple corners the market on ease of use. They both have tons of apps and integration.
This phone is not for everyone, not for symbians at all, neither is for androiders...who will go for it is some beginners on smartphone...nokia shall put BELLE on it, if they want to sell this phones.
