It's too late, it has been overtaken by China's TikTok and Kwaishou.
They had licensing deals with music companies to use their songs in short videos, and had a longer time limit for videos.
Vine... r/scriptedamericangifs... and now they think they can revive that when TikTok has dethroned them all... it won't happen.
So next year, we will see 10 Minute compilations on YouTube which will be called Â„Bytes that cured my cancerÂ“

the little bit of history behind this is remarkably stupid. first there was Vine which became popular. then they sold it to Twitter who trashed it because it didn't generate as much profit as anticipated. so now the former co-founder is like "okay then, i'll just... make a new one, i guess".
let's see if it sticks again and they sell it to Facebook
