Anonymous, 16 Nov 2018Oh and kudos for keeping paperwork to a minimum in your shops. Thats the way it should be done... moreWell thanks.
We saving the forest.
3 claiming lists and a GDPR is more than enough paper.
Its easy to cut the 200 years old tree for celulose and to make a paper but even a 200 or more years old tree would like to grow even for another 200 or more years if its healthy.
But they cut it.
It takes lot of time until a new tree will grow.
Much more than few years hen from a tiny schrub grows an average 3 meters big tree.
I still hope and i really wish for there will be another example something we can use instead of trees.
On the whole earth s about 20% oxygen and about 15% is bare minimum to survive without having breathing mask all the day.

CptPower, 16 Nov 20181. Many companies use custom OS such as Oxygen, or Xiaomi have its Mui etc. they spend money ... moreThey can use custom versions of android, but the OS is already created for them. They just modify it slightly to fit their ideas, but they dont develop it from scratch or come up with new core functionalities. What they do is like customizing a car they bought from a shop. What Apple does is building the car from scratch and customising it afterwars.
And sorry, but you have a very vague understanding of security from a programmer/developers point of view. Same with user tracking, building digital profiles, and then using algorythms to serve specific information to those users. And its nothing to worry or feel bad about, as you need to have worked in programming and developing software to understand all the substrates of these fields. The vast majority of people dont know this either, so they dont fear what they dont know.
But this not about something simple like installing an antivirus on a system. Think of an antivirus as a cream that you apply to your skin. Whereas the security features I am talking about are the immune system from within the body, produced naturally.
Also, you cant monitor and track users through an OS and also provide security and privacy at thr same time. Apple chose to protect their users privacy and provide full security to their data. Its a matter of principle. And its about offering choice to consumers. I and many others would not want them to lower their security and start tracking and monitoring their users just so they can offer lower prices. Their prices are actually fair, anyway. If all phone manufacturers would have to create and build their own OS from scratch and would not use it as an online advertising tool, their devices would be at the same price level as Apple.
The current issue is that people dont understand the value of their data and dont understand googles practices and how their algorythms influence their lives. Google offers something advertised as free, but takes so much more back from its users. Im sorry, but its more fair and healthy to keep your data and information to yourself and pay with money for that option, instead of getting discounts from giving your data away and letting a corporation monitor your every move, interaction, and thought.
Regarding point 5 - you just hear about iPhone bugs as newsflash because its sensational news and generates clicks. Even though android has 50-100 times more bugs than iOS does. If you ask any software developer who has worked with both platforms, they will confirm that iOS is solid and far ahead of android which is a collection of bugs held on together with scotch tape.
6 (about apps syncing in the cloud) - we are talking about different things here. All Apple devices sync data from inside your apps to iCloud, so you can start doing something in an app on your phone, get home and continue on your tablet, then later on continue on another device. If for example you start typing something in an app, that text will be synced across all your devices automatically. You start an iMessage conversation while you are walking around the city, get home and continue it on your iPad, and then you can get on your Mac and continue talking there. All those messages are synced throuh iCloud and this needs to be as secure as possible and always working.
7 (screens and other tech) - samsung makes displays for Apple, which are only used by Apple devices. These have higher pixel filling and are of higher quality than those used by samsung in their phones. Samsung is a conglomerate of departments, each acting like an independent company. Samsung phones department still need to get contracts and buy displays from the displays department. All they get is better price rates and priority manufacturing and shipping. But technically they are two different companies, each with their own targets and management system, but operating under a single name. Apple buys displays from them just like they would buy displays from any other manufacturer.
Also, using usb-c or amoled or whatever port or open source hardware is not stealing from anyone. ItÂ’s just following connectivity standards and making use of current technologies. And your example with the Mi Pad is obvious that xiaomi copied everything they could from the iPad, including the name. Thats depending on which country you are from and how Mi Pad is pronounced in your language compared to iPad.
Samsung did copy the iPhone extensively, that is a fact. Its the same as the chinese are replicating the designs of european cars with slight modifications. Range Rover sued some chinese company like that for stealing their designs and reverse-engineering their car, and guess what: they lost the case, even though it was obvious it was a clone of their car. Its ultimately frustrating to work on something from the ground up just for someone to come and take your designs and use it for their own benefit.
And for the iPhone 5s example - no one recommends using the phone in 2018. The OS update just brought it to the latest security patches and provided access to todays apps in the store. iOS 12 extended the phones life by a year, it didnt make it better or worse. Its a 2013 phone, you cant expect much from it. But the fact that it still runs smoothly to this day using the latest OS version is something comendable. And its incredible that they opted to support it in this OS version instead of dropping it. As I said, its the same as using a Samsung S4 today with android 9 on it. That would be equally impressive.
Anonymous, 16 Nov 2018This is where you compare iPhones to android phones but omit other costs that android phones d... more1. Many companies use custom OS such as Oxygen, or Xiaomi have its Mui etc. they spend money on here even Samsung have own bloatware with lots of useless aps such as hear meter. Which can be downloaded for free from android store.
2. Its problem of apple they cant create money by releasig advertising over the IOS software.
Android was very vise with this thus they profiting from their OS and thus they dobnt need to charge its customers where apple will shed you from skin until you have nothing left and even apps which nobody wants or need cost at least 1 dollar.
3. Android users can pay for security by downloading and instaling programs such as avast, Eset etc. Its not cheap some are free but extra security cost money but its works same way protects your phone from spying malware etc. IOS dont have this so your security ends with first virus which will enter to your phone. You can also download and buy but its not free even the app is not free. Because yes in IOS there is no advertising everything cost money. In case of android any add blocker can do same as IOS will abn all adrertising for free and advertising problem is over.
4. About this i can agree. But all depends on your local shops. If company aggree they just swaps your device for any other. Its a rule of a local shop you buy in.
But usualy complains can take as much as 30 days but some service centres when they have no job can fix your phone in no time. This is out of discusion here.
I know not everybody or every service centre works like this but some are like this or even better. And filling tons of forms??? Dont think so. Running own mobile shop company with 36 shops around the country and customer have to sign 3 same papers where one goes to customer one goes to us and one is for service centre. And then he have to fill GDPR law of european union since may of 2018.
5. What you said is total lie. Everytime new Iphone is released there are tons of bugs and other problems such as charging problems with XS and Max. If they had and did testing this wouldnt happen not on a phone which cost much over 1000.
Android phones are tested as well. Only very faulty device was Note 7 since then noone had a problem last few years. If we speak about top 10 or 20 brands. Nextbit Robin and such are out of discussion.
6. Even android have its google services which works as a cloud and can store all your data and then you can copy them to a new device. I think its called NFC.
About security i spoken up there. Any antivirus made by Avast, Eset or any else good reliable company can do whatthever you need.
I use Avast is for free and my phone is secure i dont need to pay any extra protection because its free version does everything i need.
7. Man all you named was on android before apple just stolen those techs like they stealing everything else. Since now they used lightning connectors now they switched to USB-C. They used retina screens now they buy from Samsung. They had many own but now they shop on android brands for having a complete phone dehonesting and sending to courts any brand which is not as they want or dont want to cooperate. (Just for example Samsung and apple rights on a courts which last for several years and the sum goes to some billions)
Just as an example Xiaomi Mi Pad issue . Where apple was trying to send to the courts xiaomi for using simmilar name as apple use the Mi Pad.
There are tons of examples. They have no rights to do this or that but they always doing it. Soon noone would like to cooperate with apple and then what? They dont have anything trully own past 4 years and everything they copied from other brands. Face ID was developed by Samsung. Face ID cost lot of money to make but noone using it regular finger print scanner is a lot cheaper option and works very well. Face ID is just a stupid technology created for fun because in real a lot cheaper option can works the same. And there are lot of other examples. Dual camera for example etc. Last several years apple just stealing technologies of other companies and claiming its their technology and only they have the rights to use it.
This company lost its credit very long time ago and every new year they swimming in bigger and bigger swamp.
As i said manufacturing price of apple is lets say 400 selling price is 1600.
Even the XR cost 250 to make but sells for 900 a budget called option.
And from that posted article: The biggest bottleneck continues to be the RAM. 1GB in 2018 is less than what some smartwatches have and you can't escape that, especially since apps have only gotten heavier since 2013. Multitasking is the biggest enemy of the iPhone 5s; if you stick to 3-4 apps it does well, but if you start opening more, then apps start shutting down fast. It also takes a while after that for apps to load again. Again, we are hitting hardware bottlenecks at this point and there's little Apple can do to mask it.
And this: Also, app performance will continue to degrade. Apple may have optimized the OS but there's little it can do about third-party apps, and most app developers don't really optimize for the 5s anymore. Game developers gave up long ago, which is why I didn't include any game tests. Most games will tell you it won't run on this device at all or run extremely poorly.
So, by all means, you should have updated by now. But, if for some reason you can't or simply don't care about all those things I just mentioned, the iPhone 5s is still surprisingly usable after all these years and the iOS 12 update just gave it another year's worth of life.
In other words its usable but nobody would reccomend it.
I know apple is no Pocophone but having top notch phone for a much less in selling priice compared to manufacturing cost of apple phone is uncomparable.
Sorry for any mistakes i made
I know i have no rights to judge apple i only presenting my opinion.
Every company have its flies but in this case they have much more than is healthy for a basic customer.
CptPower, 16 Nov 2018Man thats a lie from two indetical companies people would choose android of course because it... moreThis is where you compare iPhones to android phones but omit other costs that android phones don't come with.
For a simple overview of why Apple products are usually more expensive than android, you need to take into account that:
1. iOS is designed, developed, maintained, and deployed by Apple. Whereas android is developed by google and offerred at zero cost to android phone/tablet manufacturers. So manufacturers don't need to spend heavy on software development costs.
2. Apple does not make any profit from using iOS as an advertising engine, so their developers and software engineering costs are added to the devices they sell.
Google makes money out of android not by selling it, but by collecting and profiling their users intensively, and serving them content based on whoever pays more to get their products promoted.
3. iOS is designed to be as secure as possible, so it's running complex security protocols behind the scenes which are far more than what android has. This is another department that needs to be paid for in order to be top on top of all the potential security threats in the digital and hardware of their devices.
4. You get support from Apple at any time, on the phone, online and offline. If your device is faulty, they either fix it or replace it right then and there, on the spot. Having teams of people ready to work and provide support for all those cases and having stocks of those products needs money - which is paid for by their customers.
With other manufacturers you need to wait for days or weeks until you get a replacement or a fix and you need to fill out a ton of forms.
5. Apple takes care to calibrate all their screens, speakers, touch harware, biometrics, etc. and extensively test all their hardware until they reach their high levels of quality. This means costs, which are included in the product's price.
Android manufacturers usually skimp on these costs and they do less quality assurance testing. Samsung is the only one who gets to about 70% of what Apple does in this regard.
6. Because Apple devices are aimed at protecting user data and their privacy, they use security chips (like the T2) which come at a cost. (cost for designing it, testing it, etc. and not just the manufacturing cost)
And they use iCloud for securely storing and syncing app data across devices.
7. Apple devices usually come with features and hardware that are not used anywhere else. (3D touch, haptic engine, 120Hz touch sensing, FaceID, TrueTone display, etc.) which, you guessed it, come at a cost for designing and implementing them in their devices. It's not just the production cost involved.
So if you are to look a a breakdown of their products, you would have something like this:
- components = $400
- iOS development = $100
- security research and building security features = $80
- hardware design and implementation of new hardware = $70
- iCloud development, maintenance, and security = $20
- support and service staff = $15
- QA testing = $10
So you are looking at nearly double the component costs. It's much easier for android manufacturers because they only need to pay for the components, some QA testing, and some support staff. They get the operating system, the security, the features, the software design, the development of new features, all for free from google. And in return, google gets user data and information which they then use to generate profits from digital ads.
And by the way, the thing about iPhone 5s being unusable is another thing you heard from someone, but is tested and shown even here on gsmarena and it all looks good. It has trouble keeping more than 3 apps open at the same time because of ram amount limitations, but it's perfectly usable, doesn't freeze or whatever you thought it does. It would still only be able to keep 3 present-day apps open, even if it were running the initial iOS version it was shipped with. Apps today use more memory than they did 5 years ago. Figure it out.
Anonymous, 16 Nov 2018If two identical phones would come up in two variants - one with android, one with iOS - both ... moreMan thats a lie from two indetical companies people would choose android of course because its cooperate with everything and its not restricted tto just certain products from certain brand.
Man people understand real value of apple and if manufacturing price is 400 then real value is up to 800 not 1600.
Paying 4 times the manufacturing cost doesnt means people diont understand its value its means people are clever enough to not support company who robs them for money selling something which is not worth mpre than twice of its manufacturing costs.
Abot the chef in home as you said yes apple is like this. Everybody must just apple and apple.
People like to pick to have chouices not to be restricted or caged jailed etc.
People like options not to folllow one same way which leads nowhere.
Not everything which sparkling in the sun is gold. Same goes to apple.
They sparkling among other brands but they are not gold.
Real gold is value for money quality for good price.
Paying 4 times the cost for something its not very qualified thinking. But people which have the money to pay even for Buggati wont buy Peugeot 208 for example.
And the last think somewehre on this GSM Arena topic were Iphone 5s tested under the latest IOS as soon as you opened more than 3 apps simmultaneosly phone died unable to work or move anywhere, Andthis was tested so last think its a huge lie.
Dont add a lot more sugar to oversweeted cake.
CptPower, 16 Nov 2018Man you are very funny.
Android is a lot better than you said.
And a good antivirus can pr... moreIf two identical phones would come up in two variants - one with android, one with iOS - both at the same price, both having access to the same apps, most people would choose the one running iOS.
However, people don't want to pay with money for their devices, so they choose to pay with their information and private lives, thinking it's the better option. IF money was of no importance in this world, everyone would own iOS and Mac devices.
Most people hate Apple because they don't understand the real value of their products, for they have been properly brainwashed by gooleg, facebook, instagram, etc. that it's easier and better to pay with their information and allow companies to track and monitor them like test subjects in a lab, instead of paying with real money for products.
This is exactly like big companies or governments would offer anyone free, freshly cooked food in their homes by a qualified chef, with the condition that the chef can live with you permanently, listens to everything you say, watches your every move, and informs the companies/government on what is your status, what are your beliefs, what you might think, what you might say, who you follow, who you like, who you dislike and so on. And when they consider you are not following the guidelines and you are non-conforming, they would serve you "special" food to change your behaviour and get you on "the right track", follow the rules, buy what they tell you to buy, think what they suggest you should be thinking, say what they suggest you should be saying, do what they suggest you should be doing, behave like they would expect you to behave.
Staying away from these kind of things is more important than fast charging or whatnot.
The issues you mentioned are just stuff you heard from others who have never used said devices. If there were any bugs, they were fixed in a matter of days or a week or two.
And it's actually impressive that they got a phone released in 2013 (iPhone 5S - 1GB ram) to run the latest version of iOS buttery smooth and perfectly usable to this day. That's the same as getting android 9 to run buttery smooth on a phone like the Samsung S4 with 2GB of ram.

Android is a lot better than you said.
And a good antivirus can protect you from all bad you named.
In case of IOS its not cooperatee with windows its not cooperate with android it cost more than one wages and its not worth the money.
Dont support quick charge and many else. Battery and charging problems.
Android as well updating like IOS.
But to defend the android yes you get only like 2 updates and security patches.
Apple updates a lot more even when phone is unable to work with latest and nevest OS due to lack of ram. You have no extra disk space for your apps and for everything they ask money. Fraud company you defend but i will not judge apple now because you would opposite again.
Everybody have its likes and dislikes.
But because android fan base covers aproximetely 90% of total customers and they are happy with it then they must been better.

Android is fine for those people.
But then there are the others who buy Apple products for any combination of the following reasons:
- no personal tracking
- avoid using google services
- being up to date with the latest OS version and security patches
- data protection by using security chips which monitor the hardware and brick the device in case someone tampers with its components
- data protection by using encryption and sandboxing applications so they cannot share unneeded information between them
- fixing any bugs in a matter of days or a couple of weeks
- consistent user interface and user experience on a level that cannot be achieved on android, no matter what launchers and icon packs you use
- no bloatware, no hidden services running
- no restarts needed on a weekly basis
- seamless integration and synchronization with Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, cars, accessories, services, apps, etc.
- fast repairs and product replacements without lengthy procedures and without tons of questions asked

- more polished and secure apps in the store
- value retention over time
- ease of use and intuitive, minimalistic interface

When an online service (android is a collection of google services) is free, you're not the customer. You're the product.
Apple sells products and their users are the customers. Some people prefer to pay for their devices with money, others are fine to pay for them with their information, personal chats, emails, conversations, location tracking, personal photos, documents and everything they do online.
Google will soon follow facebook in using AI to scan and analyse your photos stored on google drive and use the information from these to add more details to your online profile they have built for you. They will know what you do, when you do, where you do it, who are the people in your photos, how you interact with them, what you say about them, all this so they can advertise you better.
Mi max 3 cost 270 euros and does the same.
Supports better OS SD slot and is a lot more user friendly.
Also supports quickcharge and many else.
Wonder who will buy this thing for 1150 or more.
I dont want to be rude but this company lost everything.
