Samsung don't contributes to open source anymore and running Android on the devices more like a Frankstein derivate

The way they pushed everything down to thumb rich, that is "thoughtful UX design". Stock android doesn't care about that. Also using "black" in LED screen helps the battery endurance.

EDIT: Unlike Google (in new Pixel Phones), Samsung is giving you options to use the navigation bar. In new Pixel phones, you can not choose to use nav bar, you are forced to use those horrible, unpractical gestures.

I don't hate Samsung, but all I see in the Samsung One UX demo videos is an Android Pie UI filled with Samsung's customizations.
Such changes are only minimal and the added features and stuff aren't really anything truly ground-breaking.
If anything, I don't really like the iOS-like navigation gestures. I'm using it on my Redmi 5 Plus only because there's no option to hide navigation keys. I'm starting to get used to it already, but I still don't like it, except for the fact that it saves some space.

That's the wonders of the effed up handset alliance. Google can stop it, but they're just not a consumer oriented company so they just don't care about you. All they want to hear from you is what they can sell.

Nice too sew that Samsung finaly updateting the S9/S9+ to android Pie the bad thing is that the Note 9 is left in the behind the Note 9 is the curent flagship and is far better then s9/s9+ Note 9 should have been first in line ( i have the Note 9) but thats the way it is with samsung the best flagship is always behind the galaxy s line i hope they will change that with the note 10 next year otherwise samsung will loose customers too huwei which i dont like . So Samsung i hope you listen too all Note 9 users and do something about that.

This is revolutionary. Thats why Samsung is taking time & hope they deliver a polished experience instead of rushing unfinished software. Mark my word, 50% of these new design/feature will be added to Google's stock android in the near future!

Samsung new One UI is so well polished and fluid conpared to Samsung Experience. One handed operation all the way. The late update for android pie can be forgiven considering this One UI is made by working with Google themselves. Good job working with Google for software dear Samsung.

However, I have to say, Samsung doesn't really compensate their late updates with great stability
I tried the Note 9 in a local Samsung store, and the Settings app crashes whenever I try to enter the Display section
It continues to happen again and again, as if the phone doesn't want anything to be modified on it

Xperia all the way, 15 Nov 2018Out of that list only Sony and Nokia manged to deliver the goods. Rest all just promised and ... moreall five companies that i mentioned already have either a device or two with android PIE on them either pre-installed or updated to official Android 9 "not beta" so it's not just Nokia and Sony while Samsung still didn't deliver any of it yet i was excepting that at least Note 9 to have a pre-installed Android 9 on it before 2019 but nope that ain't happening until 2019

DD, 15 Nov 2018It's almost 2019. Still on BETA. Pathetic software support. Well, of course samtards will stil... moreYou got me there pilgrim, I must eat, sleep and breathe Samsung because I like the user interface. Shame on me for liking something I researched and spent lot's of money on.
Maybe I should stop using my trusty Samsung phone's for years at a time and purchase a chinese phone every year like so many people do. Heck, from what I read on here I can probably get 2 a year for what I pay for my 1 every other year.
But I take comfort in the fact that if something should happen to my current phone I can always go back on my SII, S5, Note 4 or S7. All still working perfect as the day we got them. And here's the kicker, As my kids have grown they have all used these same phone's and they've lasted thus far. Must be a stupid decision to like what has never let me down.
My hat's off to you sir.
