Completely empirical:
In my years of use, I found LG and HTC phones as the most durable, followed by Samsung (in post Nokia era).
LG and HTC are like bricks (non flagship phones). I've had LGs that wouldn't break no matter how I threw it.
Among the Chinese brands, it's got to be Vivo. Oppo isn't that good really, they have some problems with environmental simulation and heat management.
Xiaomi products have more defects than I'd like to see, and Sony (non flagships) is equally bad.
Tecno/Infinix has good build quality for the price, but the brands are so new it's difficult to make a judgment.

especially ur comment is questionable, since the flagship mate 20 pro has light bleeding, which is seriously sad for a flagship. as sad as Apple's touchscreen disaster on the iPhone X, back then the first ever mainstream flagship phone that crossed the 1000$ price tag.

You Sony did 3 tablets and left the tablet market early but they were super strong, the last tablet had waterproof and 4K display

However the new (cr)apple one is many times easier to bend, and will break without much effort.
as for apples breaking, i have many friends who own them, all have cracked screens (still usable for the most part), but they do break easier than most other devices.
basically, apple need better testing.. or are they going to say "people are using it wrong" like with the antennagate

You know, I've always had this theory since the launch of the Mate 20 RS Porsche Design. Why not make the back made of metal and glass? Metal on the sides and glass on the center. It would make it lighter and slightly more durable.
