People are wearing their jeans way too tightly if they cant fit a 10 mm, 4.3 in phone in their pocket. However, I dont see the point in saying that HTC makes too many pohones that are alike. How does being able to identify a "flagship" device matter to anyone? If HTC makes 8 phones with good specs I don't see the problem, considering they make a different phone for different carriers. On the design, the posts before and after yours point out that the phone loks amazing. But I believe that a phones looks are a matter of opinion. As far as HTC having slumping sales, I havnt seen these articles. The last article on this website that showed sales showed that HTC was number 1 in the US. I'm not a huge HTC fan, but I dont know what your point is.

If you take a look at all of my posts across all of the articles, they're always fair, unbiased and not loyal to any particular company...
Unfortunately for HTC, the facts speak for themselves - recent articles are showing SIGNIFICANT drops in sales, and what do you think that this is attributed to? It's certainly not specs - as HTC are up there with Sammy, etc. with their large screens and their dual cores... they've even now got beats audio included, which helps define them...
BUT
And many reviewers have said the same thing, the HTC stable of products is too similar, it's the same look across the board, hard to define from their flagship model to their medium-entry model...
I have a GS2 myself, and it's probably the most boring looking phone on the market! And as I said in my last post, I don't think Sammy will be able to pull off such a boring design 3 times in a row...
What manufacturers need for 2012 is radically different designs, whether that be premium materials, colours, SOMETHING that distinguishes their range from the competition...
I loved someone's comments "go and buy a nokia then" - it's interesting (I'm not a Windows mobile fan) but it shows that people acknowledge that Nokia make rectangles look attractive... there's only so much you can do with the shape of a phone... it's the thought that goes into the design that ultimately make people buy it...
And like I said in my last post - mobile phone specifications are now evening out... people don't want quad core and all that jazz, dual core, etc. is enough... The battle is now screen sharpness / brightness and LOOK of the mobile...
And for me, SonyE are the leaders for that at the moment with the Arc - a very sexy phone, but SonyE are always a year behind with specs...
Hopefully next year will see some really funky designs to give the iphone 5 a run for its money...
ALSO!
This manufacturer obsession with "thinner is better" - is rubbish - I'd like it a bit thicker with double the size battery please! And I don't want a phone that gets mistaken for an after-eight mint! ;)
AND FINALLY!
Controversially, one of my favourite phones and designs was for the HTC Hero - I loved the 'chin' - it gave it a different look, especially in white... also they used to do a windows phone with prisms / triangles on the back - again - just something to make them look UNIQUE...which ever way you look at this phone, it's another boring, grey rectangle from HTC... and it has NOTHING that makes it special over what will be a massive year for mobiles next year...

Looks great. HTC's new editions should be a step forward. BUT...still no sign of a ruggedized, water-resistant/shockproof/dustproof smartphone from HTC! Why? Motorola have has had its excellent 'Defy' for a year, now upgraded to the Defy Plus. And both Sonuy Ericson and Samsung have new ruggedized handsets due out. Millions of people work outside and want a proper, well-spec'd smartphone but they can rely on in case it rains or they drop it. In fact who would not choose such a phone which in all othe ways was idential to one that was not protected?
So come on HTC, shake a leg! You're an excellent company making excellent products, but you're 'behind the curve' on this. I challenge you to see if you can do it! Go on, I dare you. I double dare you. And a top spec'd phone mind you, not some run of the mill job.

I'm happy as long they offering good design with good material, don't really care if it a bit repetitive or not. True Porsche fans don't get bored with their 911 styling, do they? As long as it looks good and premium.

It is revolutionary and challenging precisely because HTC must meet demand to make such thin design of metal casing!
And I appreciate it.... Worthy successor of my SGS2.

I love this design too, but if you look closely you will notice that is isn't quite different from Sensation on the front. It is slimmer thought, which is nice and it has different back with more aluminum to touch. It will be faster with better graphics, more ram and SAMOLED, which is good for HTC. I would love to see it.

It's grey, uninspiring, could be a phone from last year, this year, it's coming out - next year?!?!
Specs are no longer enough... they're levelling out - we're already a really good plateau - 1GB RAM, Dual core, lots of internal storage, etc...
What we now need is HANDSET DESIGN... something to really distinguish itself from the competition...
And as always, HTC are really boring... SonyE had the same issue a year or so ago with the X10 - totally uninspiring... and I don't think Sammy will get away with the GS3 being as boring looking as GS1 and GS2...
We need a handset design revolution!!!
And this certainly isn't it...
