We shouldn't drop all of the blame on LG. In Mexico, Telcel released the 2.3 upgrade for Optimus One in late november, but if you check the software build it's dated september 20th. That means Telcel sat on it for two months, most likely adding their crap.
Most carriers didn't even bother with feature phone's firmware upgrades, so I'm actually surprised that they did with LG.
If they took two months to port their crap to a minor revision, I doubt they'll bother with a major upgrade to a phone that will be ancient by then. But still I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Anonymous, 29 Nov 2011You don have to empty your already good for nothing lg phone battery by puttin on the waiting ... morewell fyi mr anon.. my O2X works just fine just like others bombastic smartphone..things like this you'll just have to wait..its not like making the ICS straight from your kitchen..
Its already the 29th of November, but still no Gingerbread update for my LG OPTIMUS BLACK. They postponed it AGAIN on the (can you imagine) FOURTH WEEK OF DECEMBER(yes! end of DECEMBER!!!) Now, I'm expecting ICS Update to be available maybe on 2014?? lol. Just saying..
Well considering I'm still waiting for this mythical 2.3 update to arrive here in the UK (a full month after being told it was being rolled out and almost a year after 2.3 was introduced) I'm not going to hold my breath.
I'm sure that by the time LG handsets get their 'taste' of Android 4.0, the rest of the Android community will be enjoying version 7.0!!!!
LG's mobile division is without doubt usless!
AnonD-32135, 29 Nov 2011good news.. waiting mode : ONYou don have to empty your already good for nothing lg phone battery by puttin on the waiting mod. Better make it to manual and search two or three years later :-P
Thats awesome news.. Gr8 for my LG Optimus Black .. Still waiting for Gingerbread to come though .. when is that gonna happen? :(
On time with the announcement for updates about a year behind on actually doing them.lg are a big company that obviously dont feel the need for good custimer service and support for their handsets...hope they stay as big after people who have been let down so many times finally get fed up with the b/s lg give out jump ship to htc or sa msung even s/e have realised that updates keep people happy in the knowledge their phones arent just going to be buggy peices of junk....
good, but may take a year atleast for LG to come up with 4.0 IS upgrade, till than more new android versions will be launched.
if Optimus black will get ICS.. then samsung must release ICS on galaxy SL and galaxy S
For the people on LG:
Now you can't say that the Optimus One doesn't support ICS!
