What people call a "charger" is just a basic converter supplying appropriat... moreCheap chargers that don't really have a good electrical components will cause batteries to fail.. if the stated ratings differ from the actual rating produced then it will cause problem.. and that's the tjing about cheap, not well made chargers, they can't produce consistent powers.. and that's something that may contribute to the failure..
Anyway, original chargers don't differ much in price compared to original ones, so why risking?
Anyway, it's just my few cents.. and it may not be the cause of the combustion..
Every battery can fail.. there will always be chances, just like quantum physics..
And no, i am not iPhone user trying to defend apple..
It can happen to anyone..

I was just thinking, that since ages I have not heard anything new or innovative from the iphone... & here it come----- 'Iphoe 4 self ignites itself. Wow that is what you call revolution....
I would never buy an iphone. You never know, one fine day it would blow up in my pocket. I am still very young and have to do so many things in my life.
Better to go in for Galaxy Note.

Every electronic equipment with battery will blow up if there is presence of very high temperature or high pressure.. Plus the manufacturing process is involve..
Apple will ask to recall all iPhones.. No worries! Keep your electronic product at a safe manner and manage how you use it.
Many phone heats up very fast especially in heavy use..

Woww...that is the best smartphone in the world, because it can self-destruct on its own..just wowww...no other phone can do that...the fan-boys must be so proud having "the best" and the most "advance" phone that can self-destruct..hahaha.
A good way to force iPhone 4 user to change to iPhone 4S..a good business strategy by Apple...=P

What people call a "charger" is just a basic converter supplying appropriate electric power to the real charger - which, in virtually all mobile phones, is in the form of complex charging circuits & logic integrated within the handset.
Such gain that you describe is only plausible if there was something very wrong with your wall plug in the first place, but such random faulty one wouldn't change how they are what's optimal for charging mobile phones (also more efficient, and much safer than some random RC model one)

iPhone 4, and 4S, should be banned from flying, because I do not want my flight to be cancelled only because an iPhone decides to start produce a significant amounts of dense smoke... and making people believe it could be a "bomb"... forcing the flight to be delayed, or even cancelled!
