I actually hate it and consider it to be invading my personal life and space.
Video calling is good for 2 things only : work and sex chat.
BigBlueYeti, 04 Dec 2018There are phones like that, they're called Mid-rangers. Problem is most people don't care abou... moreUnfortunately most midrangers have a camera that is unimpressive, and it's the camera that often sways the regular Jane and Joe into getting flagship. It's been like this since feature phones.
Time for someone to make a Pocophone equivalent for a camera phone. So flagship camera and SD670 or 710, 6GB RAM, and FHD+ (depending on screen size and type) screen instead of the whole SD845, QHD+ and 8-10GB RAM.
Paying for something one doesn't need always seems wasteful, and for me a flagship CPU and GPU (I only game on PC and console) seems wasteful. Lately I want the best camera, seeing as they now finally are becomming somewhat decent. Currently I only use the camera in smartphone for snapchat, for everything else it's one of my Sony cameras.

Problem is most people don't care about just getting a phone that suits them, they want bragging rights. (that's not directed at you OP). All the people on here that are saying "we don't need this", "we don't want that gimmick, it just makes phones more expensive" could quite easily get what they are describing with a mid-ranger, including big battery and a headphone jack, but what's making them all salty is that they then won't to be able to say "I've got the best phone" or "my phones a flagship" when really what they mean is "I can't afford the latest and greatest so why should others be able to get one and have a better phone than me."
if i could seamlessly place both screens together as if they were only one, no screen division or something like that it would be very nice. but i think it won't be cheaper than buying a tablet and a regular phone
Vegetaholic, 03 Dec 2018Completely useless in my opinion. Two screens is more gimmicks than usefulness. All the time s... moreNubia X includes a case.
Anonymous, 03 Dec 2018How about just put cameras in the back and make the back reflective.not useful for videocall.
I think under display cameras are the way forward. Maybe cut-outs are the next step pending when the technology is ready. The back screen is just cumbersome, flipping from front to back is another thing. But if the cost of the selfie cam is less than a good quality rear screen then maybe it might be worth it.
The Samsung F or X, whatever it's called, has some interesting design cues. It's like an extremely refined version of ZTE Axon M, from the short briefing that one could notice.
The front screen is small, so it uses way lesser battery, plus if it has a selfie camera when the phone is shut, it's a good way to see one's pics while taking them. Also the same camera can be used to take pics when opened.
The large screen is a great idea when critical detail is necessary for photos and video and also for working in documents and spreadsheets.
The few remaining issues should be whether the processor is powerful enough for professional photo and video editing as well as for things that would ideally require a powerful tablet or even a laptop.
Once it starts being produced in the millions, it should be in the $1000 ballpark or under.
I went for option 4 because i don't care about selfies and paying extra for them is a waste of money as far as i am concerned.
Well its same useless feature lie is foldable phone, like is notch, like sealed batteries, curved samsung screens or headphone jack. Just no.
It makes other devices a lot more expensive and it wont be either worth the price or customer reflection onto a phone like that.
In other words why to make something which nobody would use or buy.
I noticed that all have forgotten the main use of the front camera. This is not selfie by all means but a video calling. If you do not have a camera with the decent display on the same side you do not get a half of what is actually the purpose of the phone itself.
Stop gimmicks and make normal smartphones.
The fact that you do not have 1-2 extra cameras on the front, and no pop-up camera mechanics, can balance the cost. It may also simplify the construction, because I think placing the extra screen is not an engineering challenge, it basically means slightly less space for battery.
What about a phone without that stupid selfie camera?
Not everyone is obsessed with taking silly selfies and posting them on lame fb..
Well i voted for option 4 theses gimmicks are a lot more expensive and noone would use that feature anyway
Luxor, 03 Dec 2018Every environmentalist argument ever, "WASTE OF RESOURCE!!!!".And a very valid argument they have too. But then, you or I will not be around to see the consequence of our species wastefulness, especially on useless things we really don't need or can actually do without. But then 'Short-termism' rules, and the planet, and everything else we 'share' this planet with can go suck eggs.
I do, I always put my phone with the screen resting to the table because it has rear-mounted fingerprint scanner (LG V30)
