Dude, 02 Dec 2011That is not dumb question but just a question from a person that are not really well-informed ... morei agreed with all ur points except ur last one. in my country SE is more expensive when compared with the (almost)same spec samsung.

Is there a difference be... moreThat is not dumb question but just a question from a person that are not really well-informed of today's technology. Between SE and Samsung, the main differences are:
1) The design. SE makes more original design while Samsung tend to design slightly if not a lot similar to other phones.
2) The main OS is the same which is Android (eg. Froyo, Gingerbread, etc..), but the interface and user experience is different whereby SE use their Timescape's UI while Samsung use their Touchwiz's UI. Both will give different user experiences but there are some similarity as well especially in gallery.
3) The hardware is different especially their camera module, their screen, battery and etc. So this makes both phones feels different from the other.
4) Support is different as well. But recently, both company have been great in providing software update to their product such as OS upgrade and bug fixes/product enhancement update.
5) Price also different. In my country, Samsung tend to be more expensive than SE.
For more info, just try out your friend's phone to differentiate both phones.

ENOUGH with the Quad Core yak! Most,if not all phone do not have Apps etc optimised for dual core yet, so what makes Quad core all that interesting?
