They need more money so they release where their are more people, and also where Nokia name still has a Brand power. Wheres in Europe, the name is blanded among all others. Just another brand. At least at the reach part of the Europe, where iphone is just another device.
Anonymous, 10 Dec 2018The main point to buy android one phone is to get updates and fast updates. Why even buy a and... moreNokia 8 is not an android one device. Before talking, do a research, so not to be a "talk not to shut uo" case. Here are also nokia 6 and nokia 5 included. Actually any Nokia device from 2017 are not android one.
Anonymous, 10 Dec 2018The main point to buy android one phone is to get updates and fast updates. Why even buy a and... moreI now noticed one problem. Nokia 8 2017 is not an Android One phone. It's just an Android flagship with the developer's promise to update it like Android One. It was only 2018 when Google saw how capable HMD devs are and decided to brand them as part of Android One. Give time and our Nokia 8's will get Pie. After that, I'll play games like I don't care about exploring more about the features.

Why even buy a android one phone if you dont care about the updates and 8.1 is good for you ?
I dont buy android one phones and on my budget range i dont expect to get good update times or even at all updates. I have my phone on 8.1 too and if it gets to Pie it's only a bonus.
But if i buy a android one then this is bs what Nokia is doing right now.
And i dont care where the phones companies are in and whos country workers they use. If a startup company is prioritizing it's products for China/India market then for me it's a China/Indian company, just like any other brand from that market whos first priority is these two big markets and dont care to release new models in every market they want to be in, in the same time. And sorry i dont understand build quality. The phone i have is as good as any phone i have ever owned and most of them have always been a Nokia phones.
It doesn't sound like a great idea to me. As an owner of a Nokia device, I care about updates, I bought Nokia 8 on the promise they would update it. If I decide to buy a new device to get Pie, it sure wouldn't be a Nokia: they've broken a promise once, what prevents them from doing it twice? For non-owners, one will usually look for information on the Internet, and find they're not reliable, which will make them prefer another brand. As far as I can see it, reducing brand trustworthiness is not a good way to boost sales.
C'mon guys! Enough with the hatred. HMD (from Finland you cucks of the community) is handling the software and blueprint design of the phones while Foxconn, the same Foxconn who also made your iPhones manufacture it for a cheap price.
HMD Nokia is doing their best to fulfill that promise. I have a Nokia 8 but so far Oreo 8.1 is still a good OS. What do you gain when you go Pie? Bandwagoning Android fanboys don't understand how hard it is to make the hardware work with the new Android OS. I too am a part of that but I am always content with what I have.
[deleted post]All companies that manufacture in China are Chinese.
[deleted post]Woha, first things first: apple lies to their customers since the first apple device merge,. Samesung the same. Secone, This is for trolls to believ. Why would HMD even do that, what would be the purpose, cause? To make customers mad? This claim makes no sense as for nokia 8 users willl most probably wait for nokia 9 anyway, and of course they have the nokia 8 not an year, so most probably they will use it at least 2 years. Everything in this claim makes no sense, is amateursich and most probabil said by a bunch of typical propagandist.
Gee, don't think carriers & manufacturers do this on purpose do ya LOL
The main point is Nokia 8.1 is the successor of Nokia 7 Plus with SD710.
Why would Nokia 8 users with SD835 will buy a degraded version?
Have some common sense. Now it seems all people who hate Nokia HMD and pretend that Nokia is a chinese company have wake up now LOL. These are called a real spammers they will never agree that nokia is a finland based company they are releasing phones early on china which is currently the No.1 smartphone market and even parts are made up on china and they are cheap over there. They can even easily test there device and then release globally as they are currently startup only 2 years old they can never take risks
HMD is Chine rubbish, they release phone in China then India whilst the rest of the world wait half a year to get it, not like the old Nokia, nah these new Nokia's are just rebadged generic China slabs.
HMD are such a boring company.
If this is true, its really a bad politics to have.
But so many rumors out there... Always :-)
"According to a report from PhoneArena an industry source claims that Nokia hasnÂ’t released the Android Pie updates for the Nokia 5, Nokia 6, and Nokia 8 even though they have been finalized for some time now. The reason for this is said to be that the company is holding updates in hopes it will help sales of the newer Nokia 8.1."
[deleted post]I used a zte phone before people couldnt hear me LOL useless piece of shtt never buy chinee again
Anonymous, 09 Dec 2018LOL you mean to say Juho Sarvikas & Florian Seiche is chinese? First you stop misleadi... moreNokia is a like bloody Motorola with Lenovo chinese. EvenZTE is much better now. Nokia belongs to the past. It is obsolete
