We asked Nokia for a new E90 communicator but got nothing, the n97 and E7 dont count because they are nothing like E900..We wanted an N95 8gb type device but bang up to date but Nokia did nothing..I bolught every new N-Series an E-series device but Nokia pusued this stupid iphone killer tactic..Every company tried to do an iphone but Nokia fans wanted new devices like i said ..Symbian has now been refreshed meaning Elop shot himself in the foot..Here in UK lumnia is selling good because ive seen a few round amonsgt the BB and s/e 902 type devices..That bloody iphone ruined the smartfone worls..

BRING back clamshells, candybar, slider powerhouse smartfones and get rid of this full touchscreen boring slab no design 2011 poopoo smartfones.

Hi guys! As a Nokia fan, I would like to say few things... :) I think, Nokia should keep developing Symbian but with much bigger steps! Going Android is not an option, because you already have many phones that are different only by brand and design. Android is same on every phone, no matter if it's SE or HTC. Nokia should go away from Microsoft, it was bad back in 2006 when it pulled HP smartphones to the bottom, as it's bad now with WP7. It's a platform that can't sucseed. Not smart like Android and not eye candy like iOS. Symbian is on a good way, but still too slow, as they have to catch competition to be first again. Keep developing it, bring back Meego, bring back AF to all camera phones and stay in touch with best hardware and great design. That's the way Nokia should go. I don't mind paying for all of that. Cheers! ;)

Another example of Nokia being disorganized and bloated up useless company.

Samsung makes all kinds of electronics and they still can make phones for Bada, WP7 and Android. Nokia, a company that only specialized in phones cannot manage to do that, they can hardly release one product.

They have really strange and completely vague commercials though, I'll give that to Nokia.

Its only going to Worse for Nokia not Better because people liked there phones for being able to transfer things between peoples phones an pcs an then chose Windows when you are so Restricted,an whats the Ovi player when you have to use Zune,Symbian an Meego or Android would have been better, after a year with the N8 an nothing special since released by Nokia like a upgrade from the N8,i left Nokia an bought the Galaxy S2 which is far more advanced than the Lumia 800,at lease it accepts memory cards an can use Bluetooth to transfer things betweens other phone but the Lumia 800 is not like that an to Overvalued from Nokia,Nokia/Microsoft just trying to copy Apple but will no way will they end up being as good as them,Mr Elop just trying to Downgrade Nokia so is old employees Microsoft can take Nokia over

Nokia is an old relict, a dinosaur, it's time is up, it's simple as that, it's an endangered species the world has changed too much and the Nokia dinosaur cannot adapt, the world is too inhospitable now for it.

They were huge, and they've been making a mistake after a mistake after a mistake since 2005, they've been too slow, too arrogant, to talentless to adapt. Their time is up now. They've been sinking a long time.

Let me tell you one example of just how badly run Nokia is, announcing a death of a product in February without having anything else to replace it immediately, then a month later making another press conference where you try to convince the crowd that you are not killing the first product.

Next, going with WP7, it's garbage! No one wants it.
Killing MeeGo at the same time, the only promising product Nokia had.

Either way, all roads led to Nokia being an OEM, they simply are not good at software.

It's like this now, WP7 will be a failure, what differentiation there is going to be with a clone product like WP7? There will be none, Elop simply lied and it was a stupid lie, with Android they could've atleast made their own skin, like Sense, TouchWiz, and really differentiated themselves.

Anyways, it's too late for them to go Android, WP7 will be a failure, MeeGo is dead, Symbian is dead.

Who in their right mind buys a Nokia nowadays? When there are so many better products?

          Nokia is DONE!

AnonD-23988, 02 Dec 2011How hard can it be to get it? I totally agree that MeeGo over WP, but Android would have made ... moreInstead of Going Windows Phone..Nokia Wud Have been better to adopt different platforms..like android, wp7 n meego, symbian...it would have made all their hardcore fans happier!!!
Now ditching symbian in favour of wp7...nokia have shot in its foot!!
            Being a longtime nokia fan...that's really sad...i want a nokia/android...r u listening mr. Elop!!

the problem with nokia is that hey been lacking for years while everyone else rose to the sky.. not that nokia is still lacking and they came out with 1 decent phone that can "compare" with some of the others.. but end of the day nokia has along way to go to even hit the surface!! i love nokia but it's just the facts their phone design and software just isn't upto date

nokia making a big mistake switch into new platform but with a high price phone,if they really want a huge crowd to adopt their WP, they should aim for mid-end user first.i really want lumia800 but with that specs i think there are alot better option.sorry nokia your lumia overpriced.

said two years ago nokia needed to adopt android.. No one listened.. They have been too stubborn and that the is showing in their bottom line. Not suprised at all. My last phone was also tne n97 and it was crap in the gps and other depts. and in for repair multiple times. Eventually sold it on fleabay and have not looked back.. Both kids 5800's and the wifes n85 have now been replaced with android phones..

i think it is becourse all there phones are runing on sympian, not becourse that there is anything wrong with Sympian. but Android is simply just the top, if Nokia shall survive, why not make a "Sympian Market" just like androids??

As a dev windows phone is by far one of the best platforms for a regular user second only to apple. Nokia's decision to opt for WP was perfect and WP is lot better than crappy android with its crappy UX and half a billion fart apps and malware. If you think nokia criticize Nokia for their decision go create a new company and launch your android phones. Don't say a word against any platform if you haven't personally used it

to be honest, really there was an era, when nokia symbian s60 v2 & v3 ruled the market. those phones were truely awesome and unparallel.

but time now has changed. indeed built point of view nokia phones are really good and sturdy but it seems like it just started to take things for granted and right its like they making money, only coz of their brand name.

meanwhile others have also raised the bars very high.

s60v5 was, i'd say, quite disappointing, lots of issues with apps installtion (constrained by certificate or expired certificate), after using for past one and half year it's now i managed to get only 1 good video player. music wise nokia is too biased, those without music edition or highend are like given a sort of punishment to put up with poor sound and bass less music. so is the case for processor and ram if u compare in same price range with other manufactures.

on top of all this, they closed symbian, forget about upgrades. nokia just cheated all those who bought s60v5. unlike android which has backward compatibilty, nokia's symbian offers crap.

it's good that people are realising it, and they must coz, being a consumer we do deserve better and we should pay it to the worthy, and not to those who are jus making money out of their brand name.

Miss TicK, 02 Dec 2011Why going against the market and against what people like ? Android is free and the best OS so... moreHow hard can it be to get it? I totally agree that MeeGo over WP, but Android would have made Nokia the next SE and Motorola right away.

With Microsoft they are at least more in-control of future of Windows Phone and have a lot more extra movement where the can make changes. Exactly like on Symbian, Nokia's best years where when Symbian was owned by British.... Symbian. Nokia bought Symbian in late 2008.

And no, Android is not free for the manufacturers. Actually using it is costing more and more as the Android manufacturers are paying a lot for patents in every phone using Android to Microsoft, Nokia, Oracle etc. Microsoft alone collects ~4$ for every Android phone sold.

N97 was the last phone i had from Nokia and this phone forced me to leave Nokia forever, I was using nokias mobiles from last 15 years but alas I had to leave Nokia coz of thier slower and slugish mobiles and now i have xperia Arc which is briliantly fast and a real smartphone!
Nokia must give a free flagship handset to its every old User which Nokia used to have, if they want them back or els Nokia has lost their fans already and they will never get them back!!!
