Whether it's nokia or iphone, it's new world of competition. Who know iphone might experience the same thing withing 5 or 10 years.

Nokia has been loosing ground for a long time, they had such a large chunk of the market they did not see it as a treat. SAMSUNG and LG along with HTC and Apple`s line up will all soon take over and leave Nokia in their wake. One of Nokia`s most blatant shortcomings is its lack of style and flair, not that they are lacking in technology, their hand sets are among the most unappealing even among the unknown and inferior brands. All in all a major rethink is in need at Nokia-Microsoft. NOKIA (SLASH) MICROSOFT.

Are you guys surprised about this tho? Elop laid off so many finnish workers while at the same time selling their symbian section.

Not to mention many many people are against the move to be Microsoft's b***h when Meego was on the verge of becoming its own successful operating system. What Nokia needed was it's own OS to battle iOS and Android. Instead of becoming a hardware seller it should have become a major player itself. If you want meego u buy Nokia, similar to wanting iOS and buying Apple except Meego would be open-source as well drawing in people who like to modify their phones (similar to Android). As well as coming out with a quick way to port Android apps onto their qt framework meaning an ample app market as well.

Elop was quoted saying Meego had big flaws but from the reception of the N9, it appears to be a highly competitive operating system with the only thing deterring better sales being Elop's lack of support and lack of countries that carry the phone.

I say they will need to get back to symbian either, or to get to android and dual core cpu-s!

You certainly have no vision for technical design! You can't seriously think N9 looks a toy??? It's certainly the most modern smartphone by date, beside every Samsung phones looks like a toy!

Not to mention basic phones, which Nokia makes most
modern looking. Samsung basic phones on the other hand looks ugly, cheap and plastic compared to them.
Look at e.g. Asha 300, Nokia 700 etc.!

                                that's good news.....
Would have been better for nokia if they stuck with symbian only as their main platform....
Now with microsoft they gonna loose rest 31% market.

I think it's a risky choice to with Mango, cause it's an OS that is so underground that the only phones i know that run WP7 is not more 3 Samsung devices, not more 4 HTC devices, maybe 2 SE devices and not more than 2 Nokia devices. Nokia should have sticked with symbian and made a contract with google.

It was the same reason I dumped nokia after having a dumb phone called n85

The loud speaker was terrible you can say.

Ok.... They might have released some phones later with better speakers, but I can't get over that feeling that I missed several calls even after paying such a big amount.

That was a revelation... Never buy a mobile with weak speaker.
