This is definitely a right step forward towards the smartphone market. Windows Phone 7 is a very competitive OS and on the hardware of Nokia it looks like made for each other. It will take some time to penetrate because now there is a lot of competition. Once it will establish itself I am sure WP7 will be the liking of people over iOS or Android.

[deleted post]So rotten argue hehehehe I don't want Nokia sink, is good have some challengers out there....people that believes Android is their religion are in the most deeper error, since this market is very volatile and no one lives forever...besides the pain in the a$$ for Android is the thousands of malware apps around....but that is the sin and punishment of "open System" that any one can handle for good or bad the core of the OS....
Anonymous, 03 Dec 2011Wow, keep spreading your ignorance. I wonder how did people come to the conclusion that androi... moreLoL you still living in Sammy-Wonderland hehehehe....every one KNOWS there is not full optimization of Android in Dual-Cored Devices...
Let's give you a simple example...It's like putting an average granny in a Ferrari. The Ferrari (multi-core processor) has an huge potential, but the granny (Android) doesn't know how to handle it. She will be able to drive a little faster (improved benchmarks), but driving a Ferrari is an art, not a trick. I think that the benchmarks of any Android phone won't be outmatched by the dual-core processors too easily.
Honeycomb (for example) does make use of dual-core power, but we'll have to see if it makes optimal use of it. And then there's the apps.
There aren't any apps that are optimized for a multi-core processor yet, because Android, as a whole, doesn't support it. And what the system can't do, neither can the apps.
So there is not full optimizaton here since there is not apps that require the dual-core and the OS can't handle either....
But I bet you already now that hehehehe...... Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of having a multi-core processor in my device, but I won't really love it until Android fully optimizes the possibilities it has to offer. Besides, single-core processors still
Nokia being a Wolrd largest company should be in Topest place. Its also true that the owner or CEO of this company has earn so much money so he doesn't want progress.
The only reason Nokia chose windows 7 over any other OS is that their president Stephen Elop chose it for them. He is a loyal Micr$oft employee and wanted to prove his loyalty to his masters. There is no other logical behavior for choosing Windows alone . It definately doesn't make nokia unique in any way. Samsung, HTC, acer, and Lg all have windows phones. If Stephen Elop was truly objective and wanted to help nokia sales he would have diversified their line up, mixing android, windows, while keeping meego around. Nokia has been losing for far too long. Its time for the board at Nokia to take a bold step and fire Micro$oft covert agent.
15% price cut on Nokia 800 on Feb 2012.
Nice!!!!!!
i say nokia should really stick with symbian OS! Thanks to accenture, the symbian OS has improved majorly!

I tried Symbian on the C7 and hated it. Normal things that are painless on Android and iOS, like rearranging the icons, were a task on Symbian. Thank goodnes they got rid of that stinker. Let's hope WP7 is better.
anand, 03 Dec 2011meego has a revolutionary UI and it wil be better if nokia is going to continue supporting it agree :)
anand, 03 Dec 2011meego has a revolutionary UI and it wil be better if nokia is going to continue supporting it That would mean that Elop would make an intelligent business move...that won't happen
well I got the phone, and I like it, other then the fact that it is similar to any other wp7 device.... it has good looks, and I like using it, I dont care if there are any other wp devices, that might be better than this one, but I think that it will be a good start for nokia and microsoft, and I think many more of wp devices will be made by nokia if this one does good in the sales... and if so, 2012 is gona be a good year for nokia
and this is coming from a person that dislikes nokia phones... except for this one
Do you guys even realize that this was BEFORE Nokia adopted WP7. This is where Symbian led Nokia. No wonder they ditched it. RIP Symbian. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Fruitcake, 03 Dec 2011I bet the people in Finland have turned on Nokia for sacking or releasing so many Finland empl... more Idiot Elop not only don't want to sell N9, he purely want to sabotage N9 sales. By this he's arranging MS full profit from WP7 sales, cause he might still have MS-shares.
Rational CEO would keep at least Meego an alternative OS, in which Nokia would have been differ from the others.
Ananda, 03 Dec 2011We r waiting 4 nokia+android devices.you can choose many brand with android inside buy it then use nokia sticker & you can show off :D
They lost a lot because they woke up late.
And this Windows decision was made because they run out of time to catch up the other producers.
Would have been a better decision if they would change the interface, to make it completely different, putting icons, not "squares". It doesn't look attractive at all. It has to be seductive. What they have is just minimal.
When I navigate through Windows mobile I have the feeling that information is flowing in space, buttons and text is suspended, I don't have a picture how it goes.
Meego would have been a better solution.
They keep launching phones with technical specs that do nothing. It's like a brick in your pocket.
They just played safe. And that will cost them even more.
In few years they'll be at the bottom of the list on the market share if they don't change the approach.
What made the Iphone what it's today, is the AppStore. Increased the phones utility by 1000 times more.
More symbian devices please ditch the WP OS it will finish you and that would be a shame. I think Symbian is beautiful
very close a Lumia 800 with 4,3 inch would have been perfect, still I will dump my HTC for the Lumia, thanks to its best design, Cyan, clear black, Nokia map 3D and Nokia Music , better PPI, better sound, bye bye HTC, welcome Nokia.
