Nokia has made their decision to go with WP, so why should it discussed over and over again..? instead you all could give some inspiring thought to Nokia so they could improve their products. Always looking back is not going anywhere.
Make the WP exclusive to Nokia and launch xbox mobile console(+phone) series.
Encourage the developers to make serious games that are exclusive to xbox mobile consoles(phones). The consoles should be with the best hardware spec and quality.
Release not more than 3 phones each year.
If Nokia&Microsoft do this. I bet they will conquer the mobile phone market and also eat up some of Nintendo DS market share as well.
Yeah, i know that egoistic Nokia wouldn't do this...no even Microsoft wouldn't bother to team up with Nokia, since Nokia isn't promising in the market at the moment.
However, if M$ and Nokia are serious about their business...they should act now. Especially Nokia. M$ can choose any manufacturers, but Nokia already abandoned Symbian and Meego. Only WP is the last hope for them and it isn't so bright.
i am a fan of "old" nokia.
and i still love my good old N95.
i am a little bit dissapointed with all this "iphone-wannabe" phone from nokia.
especially the battery.
non-removable battery is really bad idea.
i will never buy any phone with non-removable battery.
i think nokia should never try copying iphone.
they should stick to their own design.
Here's my 2 cents. Have Nokia made the right decision in going exclusively with windows OS? Well the answer is no. They should have followed Samsung's footsteps in supporting the two OS that have better chances of toppling Apple's iOS, Android and Windows. You should never put all your eggs in just one basket, especially for Nokia with the case of their "burning platform". They should have carried Android OS as well to get better chances of reclaiming their lost market share. With the versatility of an open platform such as the Android, and couple it with Nokia's knack of creating excellent hardware, a Nokia Andoid phone will certainly be something that Apple will be seriously afraid of.
Now with case of Nokia Lumia 800, it's an excellent start considering that this is Nokia's first attempt on its new OS. There's no doubt that it will sell well, considering that massive marketing attempt of both Nokia and Microsoft. But to answer the question if this is the "messiah phone" (a Nokia Android phone could be one) that Nokia desperately needs? The answer would be no. Nokia has lost massive market share that to gain it back could take sometime, especially if they're only betting on one OS. As such we can say that Nokia Lumia as the "prophet phone". It shows what Nokia is really capable of, and to let people know that there are bigger and better things to come.
When Nokia releases the following:
N8 successor in dual core Symbian
N9 successor in dual core Harmattan
Lumia phone on dual core Apollo
Idiots will still be complaining WHILE USING ANDROID
4-12 core phones running on MINIMUM requirement apps which will be dual cores.
Browser benchmarch are just benchmarchs.
It's like comparing 60fps with 1 million fps with the naked eye....won't see the difference.
Nokia seems to have lost the ability to keep up with the competitors and that's the sole for their downturn. They think making n9 months for Samsung GS2 is a big achievement where as GS2 is far more ahead in hardware and software. They need to learn most importantly that mobiles are now about: more good and latest apps, btr user interface, web browsing and performance. I think they are still riding on their previously built repo and customer base which wont last for long when looking at competitor products as iPhone's, GS2, GS3(upcoming), Htc Sensation XL and XE.
I personally think that Nokia Is smart the way they are making steps forward if u look at specs the Samsung Galaxy S 2 it is a fast phone buts it's not as if it made the lumina bite the dust there are some good videos showing the speed tests and the single core ran pretty good so why change it at the end of the day it's all numbers dual core means nothing but I agree there should be a card slot and front facing camera fm transmitter and apps really don't matter if u look at android and apple they have a ton but how many frigging camera apps do u need Microsoft has a little but well built apps In the
marketplace
nokia has dissapointed the fans by taking WP and no more nokia identity to be proud..
It's a matter of choosing, and many are not comfortable by 'forcing' the fans with WP
imi, 03 Dec 2011Hi People All i can say. Before making any comment please use the product and compare with o... moreya u r right . I like ur comment . First use the device then comment and compare these people doesn,t use the device i m using symbian belle on nokia 700 and it is pretty awsum fast and relailable, and nokia 800 lumia is also very fast only take 5 to 8 seconds to turn on . I m with nokia bcoz of his quality, camera quality, and other things,
I think Nokia sales will be down for a long.. long time. Even used phone shop refuse to trade in my old Nokia N8 phone. I think that will be last Nokia phone, sad to say.
If nokia stay with WP7 and don't revive MeeGo it will be very hard, because they aren't the only one who is building wp7 phones and the other manufacturers hadn't many success with this handsets... If nokia wants more share again they have to build a real!! high end wp7 device soon!! with a big screen, superior performance and of course a very good hardware (look at n8, n9, etc: hdmi, 12mp cam, more memory, nfc, front cam, fm-transmitter.. And no require for connect on pc - with the more or less same os - it should be recognized as mass storage... )!!!!!
AnonD-32669, 02 Dec 2011Instead of Going Windows Phone..Nokia Wud Have been better to adopt different platforms..like ... moreI completelagree with you.
I've owned an N8 for a year now and have been constantly frustrated with updates that take forever! The belle update for instance is already on new N8s but yet we still wait for the update! Well I no longer care about it any longer -I have lost total interest.
After the Anna update my phone is still buggy, the scrolling is not smooth but erattic. The camera is excellent but that's about it!
Last week I purchased my first Apple product ever (iPad 2) and it is just class - brilliant in fact! I am now ditching Nokia and my N8 and I am going to buy something that just works well ....I am finally going to buy the iPhone as a Christmas present to myself!
Many people knock Apple, but the software is brilliant and the product is a class apart from the others!
AnonD-26377, 03 Dec 2011now I think we 'll 've to start our own smartphone company..
See, Nokia z a stubborn child, t... moreNo one seems to remember LG was the first and original designer of the bar type touch phone.
The first prada phone was announced Dec, 2006. Iphone was released Jan, 2007. Even CEO of LG mention that iphone is a copy of their prada(1).
However LG was mature enough to don't sue Apple for this which is quite contradict to current lawsuits of Apple against all major manufacturers(Nokia, Motolora, Samsung, HTC and etc...)
bongbong, 03 Dec 2011there are tons of microsoft developer. Android will be the next WebOS. Here today.... g... moreWebOS was not open for adaption by more then one device maker... I would prefer if Android used the standard Linux libraries but it is still open source, in contrast to ios and wp7 (for which you chant) hopefully they will disappear some day... also from the PC market.
nokia should give all its lumia 800 for free in contests on facebook and prizes

Hindsight, 03 Dec 2011What they should have done: Run with the Meego operating system and made the N9 their flagship... moreThat's the reason they go into partnership in the first place.
1. They want to be in the market selling a product or service.
2. There is a company in said market offering a superior product or service.
3. The company in question needs to be weakened or eliminated as a competitor for Microsoft to succeed.
4. Microsoft partners up with said company ostensibly to create a joint venture.
5. Microsoft wrecks the company and leaves it to die.
6. Microsoft can't offer anything comparable so the market is taken up by someone else.
It's a parasitic company that drains the juices from everyone it's ever been involved with. It should die.
In this chaos, the winner is the crappy SAMSUNG.bcuz they've been exploiting ALL OSs!Symbian, Brew, Windows Mobile,Android and now they even have their own Bada.Even if i think their phones are crap(just look at their Java performance), I feel obliged to acclaim their intelligence.and nokia is NOT intelligent. They should've given ANDROID a chance.
