What they should have done: Run with the Meego operating system and made the N9 their flagship phone, as everyone loved the idea and there was a huge amount of buzz.
What they did: Worked with microsoft who have a track history of wrecking anyone they have a partnership with. Look at Sega!

Windows phones are nice to look at. However, compared to other phones, they are lagging behind. Compare single cores to dual cores, removable storage, bluetooth (duh), and other limitations and you'll get the idea. One would usually buy the one with the most specs for all his money's worth, status symbol put aside. Substance over form.

Lumia is okay... there should be options for every people... but I think, Symbian should be revamped and should be put on more devices...
Belle is one such step towards it... but they should polish the UI a bit more..
I am using an N8 with belle, and it is F*cking fast, but the UI needs a bit eye-candy....

I bet the people in Finland have turned on Nokia for sacking or releasing so many Finland employees,Mr Elop does not no anything about the mobile market as the N9 just shows he useless,if the Nokia N9 would have been released Worldwide the name of Nokia would have been praised again,but Mr Elop was so scared the sales of the N9 would have made the Lumia 800 a Flop,Why?can"t Nokia now release the N9 globally to get the Sales of Nokia Up instead of there downfalling,hes just trying to get Nokia sold an saved

I've had the nokia lumia 800 now for about 3 weeks or so and the experience so far has been fantastic...it's really one of those, "you shouldn't knock it until you try it". This is coming from someone who has always had a symbian phone. The ease and fluidity of this new windows phone really is great, and the simple things, calendar, email etc work better than on any phone i have tried. I hope nokia's gamble with windows phone pays off as I would definately buy another.

In the present market Nokia has little scope for its product. Nokia is lost its 35-24% of market because of Outdated OS, Limited Apps support, Quality of output of Camera & Sound,After Sales Service, Pricing Strategy.
Presently Android OS,iOS,RIM OS are running the market and people liking it..
Thats the change & Nokia will wake up very late as usual in the development....

All i can say. Before making any comment please use the product and compare with others. It is one of the best handset out at this mo. I work for carphone where we sell all makes.
Nokia would do well as the brand has its own name in the heart of all people for being the best make and being reliable. BEST OF LUCK NOKIA!!!!

Nokia its a not a great phone in this price and many disadvantages in new Nokia phones. So they built a new os, windows is not new and Nokia late in this segment, they produce a new symbian or meego os.

Why? because Samsung looks upto Apple and creates all apps similar to apple which basically proves that Samsung android based phones are substitute to ones who can not buy apple phones. And as far as Nokia is concerned in this scenario it always comes up with authentic products and which are revolutionary and apple is in no competition with Nokia as both have different target customers.

And lemme tell I have used bot SGS and Lumia 8oo and i am being frank here that Nokia windows phone has a lot more to offer than Samsung. When i used windows phone the first time i just said one thing "Awesome". And believe me i am ready to sell my SGS crap but no one is ready to buy as i wanna upgrade to WP7. And secondly Nokia always does something new and authentic for it's brand loyal's unlike Samsung running phones on stolen OS.

These budget phones are way better and economical any android budget phone available in market. These phones let you use almost all necessary app you need to use. And guess i don't need to tell you there is no other NOKIA.

Nokia can produce beautiful hardware, but unf... moreI don't think nokia should follow what samsung, HTC and SOny erricson did Nokia has always been unique. Uniqueness & innovation is Nokia's USP. I believe Nokia has taken a smart actually a revolutionary step for not adapting the Android and rather sticking to Symbian Anna, belle and now windows phone. Trust when you use windows phone you will forget Android, I used one and it's great. One more thing unlike Android windows battery lasts longer.

Anonymous, 03 Dec 2011nokia is dead. they will NEVER get back their marketshare. FYI Nokia still has the biggest market share in the world boy. There is nothing about regainig market share as Nokia is still the leader and will always be the market leader. And you can not deny the fact that at some point of time you must have also used Nokia once.
