Th... moreI personally like tablets for streaming football games either on the go (using a phone as a hotspot) or at home with the hdmi port connected to the tv. The various office apps make it easy to view powerpoint slides while stting on the couch, eReading is easier, watching movies or playing games on a plane is easier with a tablet than a laptop. And of course, web browsing is easier. I am not a fan of Apple, but I have to give them credit for improving the tablet (though they did not invent it). But I dont think tablets have hurt the advancement of phones as HTC releases about 1 new phone per week and motorolas and Samsungs phone line seems to be pretty good.

The thing is, the big brass players of Android and Windows (Moto/Sammy/HTC/ASUS) seem to be distracted with tablet progression ever since Apple introduced the lame IPad instead of focusing on the smartphone platform, taking attention away from phones defeats the purpose of the phone progressing and relegates it to second priority. Tablets aside from the Ipad are a sales flop, wasting unnecessary money onto a platform that is currently not as important as the smartphone.
