Carol, 21 Dec 2018The problem is, symbian is still ahead and does not even sell anymore. Reminding everyday how ... moreIf it was ahead , in features people wanted in smartphones it would have taken off.. as such it may have features that are still missing from IOS and android , but they aren’t the features that are a must as such it’s more of a bonus if they were there. If it could come back now and have a better and faster UI , which has a platform for games to be built on easily I can’t see why people wouldn’t use it , I mean look at Samsung i’m Pretty sure they are still building tizen up in the background. As within the next few years the smartphone market is lightly to decline more and the only way to keep profits up is to have you’re own eco system like iOS Apple phone , Apple Watch ... Samsung phone , Samsung watch .. just a needs Tos “Tizen operating system” also that way they can keep devices updated for longer and focus more on selling more content on there version of the play store say... Tizen Game store...
1st world citizen here, would insta buy if comes with WhatsApp. because battery life

Symbian's days are long gone. Google should learn from the mistakes Nokia made. You can't rest on your laurels and think you're always going to be on top.

Stephen Elop's initiative to push out Anna and Belle improved the experience a bit, though.

The user experience wasn't the best and left a lot to be desired, yet it was usable and I never really had a bad time with it.

There might have been one or two random features no one has specifically used since, but the whole user experience was brain haemorrhage inducing. "I'll just select this option before lunch and it'll maybe be done loading when I get back...."

The reason these phones remain popular in the middle east and Africa is because not everyone can afford a smart phone. Sure you get very cheap smart phones but for example where I live in South Africa data is expensive due to corporate greed and smart phones are not the best option. so a lot of people just go for feature phone and get by with voice calling and sms's
AnonF-85937, 21 Dec 2018You can do all that on Android, so what are you on about? Which version of the Android exactly? Because I know not many lets you do that.

If there's a person who must have a phone to contact their doctor or a relative when they're ill, it's relatively easy to do it using a traditional phone. There are even some models when one can add maybe 3-5 contacts so it goes like: 1. doctor 2. paramedics 3. relative and optional 4-5. alternative relatives. I have a relative who had a heart attack about 4 years ago and we bought a phone for him. When he was in bad shape, he used mostly his second phone with a pre-paid card. When he was better, he used his first phone (with android and all the extra features). His second phone was what's called in my country a "dumb phone" so it had an option to diall any number, to call 3 chosen contacts directly or to text. There was no camera, mp3 player and so on but in this case it wasn't important.
