How is Android better alternative ? Because it has terrible battery performance ? Because its applications are java based and realtime interpreted, thus much more memory and performance hungry ? Because its UI still lags even on dual core processors ? Cmon...

The UI is so minimal and runs buttery smooth on a single core processor. Only plowing android and iphone need dual core, which will actually drain your battery faster

Symbian lives on even with QT and a mix of Meego and Maemo and Symbian. Nokia doing a great work on every frontier. Love Nokia 701 with Belle

Android is taking its marketshare away from Symbian and Blackberry. Android is now the king and Symbian is now the kingdom's fool that everyone laughs at.

Nobody wants Symbian anymore and that's why it's on a steady and steep decline. It hasn't regain any marketshare it lost to Android in the past 2 years. Who would want a Symbian when a better Android alternative exist?

shano, 08 Dec 2011symbian is terminal dying mate, we all no tht! wave bye byeWow, just stop with this "Symbian is dying" BS. Actually Symian is now developed probably at faster rate than it was before Nokia+WP announcement (11 feb). There were 2 big updates since then - Anna and Belle, while competing OS'es - Android, iOS, Bada came with only one major update in the same time period. Nokia announced that new Symbian devices will be released until they will not generate profit anymore (so theoretically, if new Symbian updates and devices will be successful, Symbian can live many more years). Even if not successful, Symbian will be supported at least until 2016 and frankly, who's buying a phone in 2011 or 2012 for more then 4 or 5 years ? So not, Symbian is definitively not dying.

Even Lumia 800 is. U should compare it to other WP devices, not to Android devices, because single-core, WVGA and even 720p are limitations of WP itself, not the particular device. And if u look what other manufacturers offer in their WP range, u'll realize that no one has better spec'd phone than Nokia 900, or as good looking as Lumia 800 (including Samsung or HTC).

Those who think Samsung are going to die are living in dreamland, dream on. Same thinkg with Nokia, it isn't going anywhere....yet. We should just enjoy what we have rather than bickering over which platform is better.

The OS can run on min specs without skipping a beat (this is not to say that some of the apps developed are a little intensive and could've been optimised better).

Look at Lumia 800 specs and it flies. The 900 will blister with a relatively low spec of 1gb RAM and 1.4GHz CPU, compared with the new specs coming out soon of quad core units in Droids.
