not really, people don't upgrade because the improvements over year are so small nowdays with smartphones, price is no issue for me, the fact that my current iPhone already have it all is. And i'm not cursing about it, i'm happy that i don't feel need to upgrade.
Maybe you haven't noticed the fact that whole phone industry is down for same reason and will going to be this year too.
Anonymous, 11 Jan 2019"...obsessed with..." is a pretty way to say...ENVY. True history.I'm so obsessed that I gave away a free iPhone 7 and an 21" iMac. And the really funny thing is everybody says resale on Apple products is so great.... bull f#$@&ng s#@t!!! A computer that cost $1500 a few years ago sold for $150 and that piece or junk 7 sold for another $100. Phone was used but good shape and the iMac was pristine.
Garbage overpriced junk.
[deleted post]MIUI is actually an excellent skin. You should try using a device with one before you judge. Very smooth, efficient (doesn't drain the battery and not heavy on memory use) and stutter free (runs smooth even with low end/entry level snapdragon processors), and the best: extensive customization options - the MIUI theme store is the best in the android world BAR NONE! You can theme virtually everything, no root required! Did I say BAR NONE? Yes, I mean it. It is much better than iOS, and yes, it is superior to Samsung's Touchwiz and Huawei's EMUI. Did I make it crystal clear to you? It's the best in THEMING/customization in the Android world BAR NONE! It can be quirky, it can have ads, but make no mistake: It's the BEST BAR NONE in smoothness, efficiency and THEMING OPTIONS!
Domestoboto, 11 Jan 2019Not everyone wants to buy a cheap "five percent profit margin!!!" Xiaomi like you...Try the Pocophone F1 before you judge Xiaomi. It will put to shame your iPhone.
Why publish this, if I was moderator I'd delete all Apple phones articles, reviews and specifications off this site for good. Gsmarena should be more like XDA not phonearena.

It's unfortunate that in a span of 12 years, we are now witnessing the end of the iPhone era, an era where Android manufacturers would look up to Apple as the trendsetter and where iPhone fans always defend the iPhone pricing, praising them as 'deserving of' or worth
their high price. Now many iPhone owners are cursing Apple for being so greedy and are hence refusing to upgrade to another iPhone.
We're now seeing water drop and punch hole designs as an evolution of the iPhone inspired notch and under display fingerprint scanners as well as manually sliding or motorized all screen designs, while Apple stubbornly held on to the iPhone X's notched design for its 'Face ID' for another year, and most likely, for more years to come.
For sure, Apple could have certainly done much better on the iPhone's hardware and software features, but it preferred to be cautious and conservative with its approach and play it safe with 'tried and tested' features. Apple has only changed its exterior design/size dimensions a very few times in the last 12 years, has practically the same hardware feature set (actually removed some features), and has stuck with an operating system with the same degree of inflexibility, restrictiveness, and non-customizability throughout all of those 12 years while the lowly, clunky, stuttery android software has matured and drastically improved by leaps and bounds through the years, as hardware manufacturers continue to be aggressive and push more than ever the limits of smartphone hardware (more cameras with more sophisticated photo processing, faster 5G LTE speeds, faster processors, more RAM, more storage flexibility, higher battery capacities, more agressive bezel-less all screen designs, sizes, dimensions, under display fingerprint scanners, etc.) All these while the conservative iPhone is stuck with the same hardware features (save a few), and the same overly restrictive, suffocating, non-customizable operating system that has changed very little in terms looks and features since the very first iPhone. Good luck Apple. Hope you won't end up like Nokia and Blackberry.

Seriously, most features are just derivatives, copies or improvements from those OS.

Apple's recent downturn is karma on them for overpricing their products. They push their prices to astronomic levels, then they get shocked when they start losing sales and get lower revenue (insert Surprised Pikachu meme). Qualcomm's suit against Apple where their older iPhones get banned is also well deserved because Apple pretty much backstabbed Qualcomm. Hopefully, Apple gets more punishment.

Bill of materials proves that Apple products are overpriced for what they bring, considering they're pretty much copying features Android already has from the past 2 years, claiming it as supposed "R&D". Most of that mark-up is obviously for all the money they spent on "marketing".

The infographic about bills of materials and actual price for what these phones are sold for, is shocking.
Bionic, 10 Jan 2019Android fanboys are obsessed with Apple..And Apple sheep deflect from their corporate deity's failures instead of accepting the reality as it stands: Prices are too damn high, incentives to upgrade are too damn low.
Bionic, 10 Jan 2019Android fanboys are obsessed with Apple..I don't think I'm obsessed. They make a good product for the people who truly like it.
I can't stand it, but that's me.
Didn't realize the iPhone 3G had the highest markup. That was the worst iPhone of all-time. Perhaps worse than the 5c!
My iPhones rankings
The rest don't matter. I can't stand iOS and the Dasher app is inferior on it.
I just bought a second-hand PS3 phat (80gb) for $80 the other day. I must say, it is the worst PlayStation console ever. I forget it still has Wi-Fi g and less RAM than a Vita. With that said, I still like it enough. I have generally liked all PlayStations. Can't be said for every iPhone ever released.
My PlayStation rankings
2. PS Vita
Never had a PSP Go although that's probably the worst PlayStation ever.
I generally like all six PlayStations I've owned. That's 6 for 6. Among all the iPhones ever released, only five of them I liked - 2G, 4, 4s, 5s, SE
No intention buying the X/XS/XR. I just don't think iOS really works for me. Still no torrent apps, YouTube downloading apps, customization for the homescreen, etc. Pixels work better for me.
