Sony have already made such infographic but another one won't hurt I guess.
Domestoboto, 11 Jan 2019But users don't want bloated devices that chug or stall when you load a heavy website or play ... moreI would take any day Samsung device with much more mature software when, stock skin lack of features. I dont care they get updates quickly, I care about functionality
JohnW1981, 11 Jan 2019Sony actually rolled out pie to more flagships/former flagships faster than Nokia hasNot so... I did get my Sony pie update today... 4 month late. It is not so easy.
TF is a "non-operator market"? Why would they use some internal lingo in an infographic that is made for the masses? FAIL

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2019Because everybody know hmd is not the real nokia. The Real nokia doesnt produce phones anymore.Because Nokia and updates is a normal. Quite VERY normal, so the only ones that could comment here more then one time would have been a troll that identifies himself with more nick's or io addresses, you.
Love the Community, 11 Jan 2019Well, gotta blame Qualcomm and to an extent, other SoC makers for making it last for 2 years m... moreNot really. since we are not talking about budget phones there is not much to deal with. For example, the released Android Pie OS based on SD 845 (64bit). It is the exact same SoC, that used in other flagships like Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony, OP, Xiaomi and more, so there's nothing to deal with. Sure Apple releases 1 PHONE per year but they release other devices like iPads and iPods, which run iOS as well and they have their very old devices like iPhone 5s. So let's compare it with Samsung. Samsung released first wave of Android P 4-5 monthes after google did release Android P. Same SD 845 and same structure, anyway Samsung needed about 10 monthes to release the update (don't forget the beta testing of Pie and first wave of DEV releases from google) for Only 1-2 devices (S9 and Note 9) compare to Apple for close to 20 devices (All iPads, iPods and iPhones from 2013 to 2018).
Don't get me wrong i don't like Apple at all, actually i hate tehir unfair strategy but for sure they do an awesome Job with security, policy, respecting customer's data and for sure software updates and fixes.
tbh there is not even a single excuse to roll out an update after 4months. Don't forget Samsung MAYBE gonna update Note9 and S9 series to Android Q and if yes for sure after min 10months and Android R will be a dream for S9/Note9 owners, meanwhile a iPhone 6/6s owner will receive the newest update in the same day of release. It is Kind of sad and embarresing.
Dr. Chillo, 11 Jan 2019That is exactly what I'm saying. Apple did it easier because they only release a flagship device per year and it's pure 64-bit too. Android has to deal with 32 bit and 64 bit processors and that's the reason why manufacturers of flagship and budgets are having a hard time updating the flagships.
Dr. Chillo, 11 Jan 2019That is exactly what I'm saying. It is really annoying, that you buy one of the most expensive... moreNokia's phones aren't even expensive to begin with. An SD835 phone for around $500 (October 2017) is a steal.
Let's never talk about Nokia 8 Sirocco.
g6 user, 11 Jan 2019are you mad because of a 4 months delay.... android is not ios that will gte update same day d... moreThat is exactly what I'm saying. It is really annoying, that you buy one of the most expensive phones at the time and you musst wait monthes and in many cases a year for the update and After 2 Years you'l stuck at an 1 year old OS with no further updates.
It is really sad to see even a 5 years old iPhone 5s geht's latest OS update right away and your 1000Euro Samsung or LG ... not even the very next update in time and in Most cases 1 year and in some cases 2 years of updates.
Dr. Chillo, 11 Jan 2019Instead of wasting time on fooling us with some non sense Kindergarden graphics of their late ... moreare you mad because of a 4 months delay.... android is not ios that will gte update same day due to too many variants and stuff that apple doesn't have to deal with .. 1 flaghship phone per years is best choice .....id love to see my LG G5 updated to oreo but guess what im stuck in 7.0 on a unlock variant no carrier bloated this is stupid ... when carrier branded phone started to update phones faster than international or unlock variants ........
it is a shame for lg launching lg v20 as fiest smartphone with 7.0 before pixels and at same time last one with 8.0 not even 8.1 really over 2 yaars for single and at the same time outdate **updated *** im sure than I wont get lg again and this kind stuff makes you consider an iPhone for longevity
this is stupid.... it is nokia .. no it is not it is hmd global ..... for me it is ...company changes workers as well ... so the name backup the company the products appears to be well constructed .. many people wanted th return of the brand me too... so whats the matter .... you get a good quality phone with quicker software updates than most of well known and truly manufactures which are greedy and don't bother updating their phones on time or simply slowdown performance in order to make u buy a new one from them
im watching you LG,SAUMSUNG AND APPLE
Instead of wasting time on fooling us with some non sense Kindergarden graphics of their late updates, they could focus on their updates delivery as soon as new OS published and not 4 monthes later. By the way Nokia is one of the fastest, I don't want to talk about Samsung, LG, SONY(dead brand), HTC (dead brand), Huawei and etc.
I'm a developer so i know what I'm talking about, If these companies put enough time, effort and money in their System update's Team (better to say DEV team), they could deliver updates latest 1 month after google's release but guess what?! THEY DO NOT GIVE A S..T ABOUT UPDATES.
jvmb, 11 Jan 2019Hum, the only brand with timely updates that I'm aware in the android space is Google...From this infographics it is clear that for Nokia to make updates even faster, they need to choose only SoC on high priority list of preferred OEMs so they get HAL for their phones faster.
ZloiYuri, 11 Jan 2019Emmm... Where is cool infographic? Or these boring pics became cool just because of "nokia" br... moreThe infographic is basic, just like how HMD Nokia played safe for two years and I'm okay with this minimalist approach. Be grateful that HMD from Finland is still developing timely software for all of their phones as promised compared to your hero, Samsung if I were to assume.
Shanti Dope, 11 Jan 2019Nice! Oppo and Vivo should post something similar like this as well! Wait.......Aw c'mon, fellow Flip. The Foxconn, HMD and Nokia is working with when it comes to manufacturing is different from the factories BBK owned. BBK doesn't care about frequent updates as much as HMD Nokia do.
What happened to the HMD Nokia love from 2017? You guys are being unfair to the startup for reviving the Nokia name with the help from the factory that once helped the OG Nokia a decade ago and the "better to be safe than sorry" blueprints made by HMD in Finland which is just across the OG Nokia HQ.
I'll have you know that my Nokia 8 has been a great daily driver for me. Just let them play safe for so long.
Tell me, why u so unfair, considering you were once fans 2 years ago.
