Note 7 by xiaomi is a very charming device right here right now.
But this a must have people still weeping about is disaster.
Mr. Fluxy, 16 Jan 2019Wow, have you took into your calculations that Samsung and Apple sell the most devices? So it ... moreMan if you were only right.
Samsung sells most depends on where.
Here in Slovakia i sell for example like 200 xiaomi devices a day in 37 shops.
But in case of Samsung its like a 50 devices.
Even Huawei i sell like 100 phones a day.
And as i said Samsung is most faulty despite the fact they are least selling among the touch phones.
CptPower, 15 Jan 2019Quality maybe. So it is normal that more are faulty. I don`t want to defend them cause I don`t like either but you should look at sales and returns for all 3 brands, and make an average before claiming things
Anonymous, 13 Jan 2019If anything dual displays are more practical. The hardware limitations that come with having a... moreThe idea of the dual displays is good so you can have in the same time better selfies with less cameras incorporated and possibly even water proofing. The only problem, and that is a major concern, is that the most sensitive part of a phone, the display, gets doubled. If you drop your phone then you have a really high chance to shatter one from the 2.
Anonymous, 13 Jan 2019Follow readyfx slider and cosmo comminucator phones - touchscreen keyboard will never be as ef... moreI don`t think a slider keyboard is needed for an avg person. It makes the phone even thicker and what is worse eliminates the water resistance, what is a no go if you take into consideration that without this protection one single mistake can damage "your precious".
If you want so badly to type from a physical keyboard and to write novels on your phone then there are tons of bluetooth mini keyboards to use. For 10-20$ you can get a decent one.
CptPower, 15 Jan 2019Well thats correct but then why phones have the IP68 which cost lots of extra bucks if nothing... moreBecause marketing :-)
Funny enough this "must have" IP rating was not a must have when pretty much only Sony offered it across their product line and not just on a rugged model, but after Samsung and others did the same then suddenly it's a must xD
Having some rubber seals, or other type of nano protection (Moto) is better than not having any, for the time they are effective. But paying for IP rating is just marketing. Redmi Note 7 have the same type of waterproofing as any IP rated phone, and it's a very affordable device.
Marco M, 15 Jan 2019IP68 can only help so much, and only against pure water, not ocean water nor chlorinated pool ... moreWell thats correct but then why phones have the IP68 which cost lots of extra bucks if nothing and noone can guarantee yiou that phone is and will stay protected,
CptPower, 15 Jan 2019Quality maybe.
But when a customer comes to our shops show and claims his IP68 sony phone lit... moreIP68 can only help so much, and only against pure water, not ocean water nor chlorinated pool water. Sony informs clearly of this, and also they inform (where applicable) that caps needs to be cleaned regularly, otherwise dirt and grime will ruin the integrity if the rubber seal. A lot of people don't care and use it in pools, ocean and never cleans it.
Sim card trays are a weak spot on all phones as the rubber ring there can catch more and more dirt everytime you change SIM or SD card.
there's a reason why also IP68 phones does not cover water damage on warranty, it's impossible to be sure the user didn't "abuse" the phone in wrong type of water or too deep or let dirt ruin the seal in sim tray.
Marco M, 15 Jan 2019That didn't have anything to do with slider tech, Sony Ericsson phones was the most repaired/i... moreQuality maybe.
But when a customer comes to our shops show and claims his IP68 sony phone litterary drowned in a child pool when a dad making a 2 single underwater photos of his two childerns thats doesnt sounds like a quality.
I have a tons of other examples.
But i can honestly say Sony phone is more quality than any other because when comes to claims for Sony we have less repairs in our stores than for any other brand. Especialy Apple and Samsung.
In this case even a Xiaomi or Huawei phone is much more durable.
CptPower, 14 Jan 2019Well i had Sony Erricsson Vivaz U8i back in 2010-2011 paid 500 euros for a device and was more... moreThat didn't have anything to do with slider tech, Sony Ericsson phones was the most repaired/in for service phones at that time, and over a long period as well. I steered clear of SE until Sony Xperia line matured and build quality improved.
In another article:
Clockwise: The rise and instant death of notch phones :)
Well i had Sony Erricsson Vivaz U8i back in 2010-2011 paid 500 euros for a device and was more umhappy than happy because either touch screen always frozen or keypad did not working. In like 2 years phone were constantly under repair from service centre.
I am glad i wont buy slider anymore :-)
I found the flex cable on the Sony Ericsson W395 to be beyond abysmal!!! And ever since, I have been put off slider phones. Their durability is sacrificed!
ertguoqjhon, 13 Jan 2019More moving parts whit worthless, week plastic materials, men poor lifespan and lost money for... moreNo weak plastic (not that plastic is weak either), but ceramic back and solid 7000 series aluminum frame.
Read more, learn more and troll less please.
It's a beautiful concept as where it is now, only the reliability of it raises questions, as well as dust and dirt between the slider. Definitely better than the notch.
Moving parts? No thanks. Durability will be an issue. Less than a year and issues will start to surface with the moving contacts.
They have made the decision to move towards swype+voice input.
I greatly miss Motorola FlipOut.
