And if one wants, manual mode offers True Blue 48mpx images without any pixel binning. But obviously they will be worse in quality.
Shanti Dope, 12 Jan 2019Oh thank you Mr. Incorrect.

While calling it a 12MP sensor is wrong, saying that it is a 48MP sensor is also kinda not right. It's like a pseudo 48MP camera.
They used plastic frame instead of metal

LEEDAQ, 12 Jan 2019do you really need waterproof on the phone? how badly do you guys treat your phone seriously??... moreDoes give you peace of mind in case of an accident like if you've got stuck in rains, accidentally drop it in a puddle/pool, etc. Those that want to shower with or knowingly wet it are ridiculous people in my opinion.
LEEDAQ, 12 Jan 2019do you really need waterproof on the phone? how badly do you guys treat your phone seriously??... moreThey wash their phone occasionally.

LEEDAQ, 12 Jan 2019do you really need waterproof on the phone? how badly do you guys treat your phone seriously??... moreNeed to watch pink clips under shower.
do you really need waterproof on the phone? how badly do you guys treat your phone seriously??? some splash of water wouldn't affect your phone unless you dip your phone in the water
stanley77, 12 Jan 2019maybe there will be later also redmi note 7 pro model with snapdragon 710 and NFC ,who knows ;... moreDefinitely. And the same 48MP sensor, but the Sony IMX586 one instead of Samsung's lower grade one.

Last time I've checked, the sensor was a Samsung 48MP 1/2" ISOCELL one, and it performs pixel binning to capture 12MP images. Oh, and this one will also have the capability to capture in full resolution, because what's the point of having all those pixels if one will just utilize 1/4 of it?
It takes full 48MP images in daylight and only switches to 12MP pixel binning in low light, so it's STILL taking full 48MP images.

Can Xiaomi shrink this phone to 5.7" platform? A.k.a non-note version?
It's fine if little bit thicker to keep the 4000mAh battery.

because redmi note 7 ... moreIt might be using a custom ISP made by Xiaomi to allow its full potential.
Look at the P20 Pro. Its ISP is considerably weaker than, say the SD835, which in itself also doesn't support 48MP full resolution, but it still works with such sensor nonetheless.
Wow, Xiaomi is stepping up the standards for low budget phones!
Funny yet very shameful to think that Samsung couldn't offer even a SD625 at this price point.....
Is the Snapdragon 660 version on redmi note 7 a modification series ?
because redmi note 7 uses a 48 megapixel camera while reading on the Qualcomm website this processor only supports a 25 megapixel camera
