I use my desktop for that. What about multi tasking and ram management? And back in the day, symbian had Whatsapp, Skype, Office etc.
Anonymous, 16 Jan 2019I thought we are talking about camera !You came up with how Symbian could run smoother than Android 5 with quarter the RAM in the first place. We WERE talking about the image quality.

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2019heard about allaboutsymbian ? try checking that site. See the results for yourself. Yeah I know that website and AllAboutWindowsPhone, though I don't trust his personal opinion on phone cameras since his scoring system is heavily skewed and putting far more emphasis on detail and noise than anything else. What I said in this comment section were based on what I saw myself on the internet, including all the full resolution samples from various phones he posts on his website. My points still stand - The only advantages that Lumia 1020 has over modern flagship smartphone cameras are the great detail rendering and lossless zoom in 5MP mode, that's it. Nokia 808 is a lot better than 1020 but its low light performance is downright disgusting for 1/1.2 inch sensor, and its dynamic range still leaves a lot to be desired. Did I say anything wrong here? Nope, but if you can't accept those facts, well that is on you.

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2019For YOU and others who already have SD845 is the Nokia 9 with SD855 in August... For everyone ... moreIf it's true, then it means that the release date of SD855-variant of Nokia 9 is dangerously close to when the next iPhone will be announced. Meanwhile the regular Nokia 9 coming before MWC will have to face tough opponents like Galaxy S10 family and P30/P30 Pro, which will feature 5G compatibility and better SoC. It's great to hear that Nokia 9 won't be too expensive compared to its rivals, though.
Patrick, 15 Jan 2019HMD is more an intermediary than anything else. Its function is basically marketing, tweaking... moreYou do realise R&D in this context means stuff like heat mapping and durability testing? The things Nokia used to have their factories do. HMD alone design and develop their phones.
If you call sourcing components from various manufacturers and letting Foxconn build and test your devices being a "middleman", then Apple and Google are also middlemen.
Kiyasuriin, 15 Jan 2019For me. it DOES matter. why should I buy a phone with the SAME chip as the one I have right now??For YOU and others who already have SD845 is the Nokia 9 with SD855 in August... For everyone else with SD6xx or SD835 or even SD821 can upgrade to Nokia 9 with SD845 with cheaper price and earlier than SD855 version.. See it is THAT simple.. Nokia provides options for everyone.. No wonder they shot up to TOP 10 phone manufacturer in less than 3 years
Qwerty2019, 15 Jan 20191) There are MANY phones with SD845
2) UD FPS is an EXPENSIVE, useless GIMMICK. What's wrong ... more1) What is your point here?
2) UD fingerprint is the future.. Soon everyone will adopt it.. You know it is expensive then why do you question its price?
3) Haha.. My Nokia 808 still beats any phone camera today.. Only Mate 20 Pro can match its prowess.. Your cheap pocofone doesn't even have OIS meh..
4) I was talking about the structure.. Of course glass is breakable but the chassis is unbendable, the ports are sturdy in short high build quality..
5) Haha.. Does your pocofone have IP rating? That explains its price
6) Most are probably not that hard to repair - but only Nokia gets the award nonetheless.. Why? Because of its layout and design.. Again high build quality
7) So you rather have bloated chinese bloatware on your Android pocofone rather than just a simple app install from Google Play whilst keeping your OS clean?? Incomprehensible
8) I know what's inside the pocofone.. I know why the pocofone is cheap.. Do you think pocofone did not cut any corner to get that cheap price? What naive kid you are..
Cheap LCD display with washed out colors that turns black when you wear polarised sunglasses.. NO IP protection.. NO NFC(essential for smartphone of today).. NO wireless charging.. NO OIS on main camera.. NO EIS for video recording.. It is what it is.. A cheap phone with a quagmire of cons to cut costs.. If you are happy with that than by all means.. But why do you question other phones which have extra goodies(IP68, OIS, NFC, Wireless Charging, Pureview Penta camera, ClearBlack display etc2) at an increased price?? Your pocofone is not god.. It is you who're BSing here
Patrick, 15 Jan 2019HMD is more an intermediary than anything else. Its function is basically marketing, tweaking... moreHMD vs Foxconn
"HMD is headquartered in Espoo, Finland, and is largely run by former Nokia executives. The first CEO was Arto Nummela, a Nokia veteran for 17 years, until July 2017 when President Florian Seiche took over as CEO. Manufacturing is outsourced to Foxconn. Nokia has no investment in HMD but remains a partner, setting mandatory requirements and providing patents and technologies, in return for royalty payments. HMD uses a marketing strategy advertising the Nokia phones as "pure, secure and up to date" (referring to a stock Android interface and its commitment to fast updates) as well as brand trust and nostalgia."
Anonymous, 15 Jan 2019while enjoying the over sharpened, over processed images. Less processed doesn't automatically mean better photos. There are tons of other factors you have to take into account when you talk about image quality, but for some reasons many Nokia fans seem to ignore all those things and talk as if the higher megapixel count is the only thing that matters, while also calling themselves a photographer.
Nick Tagataka, 15 Jan 2019CM1 runs on more modern OS(Android 5.0 vs Symbian) and packs faster processor than Nokia 808, ... moreAren't you tired to tell people nothing but fantesies? You never owned none of this devices, and you probably will never know what photography actually is, so cut the crapp and let this comment section at peace, so many trolls in one place is already boring.
So you went out and bought a 256gb Apple SX Max at nearly £1,600. Some how I don't think so. I like the look of Apple stuff but I don't know where you get the word quality from. So why have sales in China fell tell me that if you can. It's because their own country can manufacture phones on par with Apple at half the price of Apple. And you praise Nokia.
I was a Nokia fan untill 2011 when Microsoft stepped in They killed and put an end to the original Nokia brand as we knew them. HMD and Foxconn. At the end of the day is just another company making mobiles running Android and bearing the Nokia name the name may be back but not the phones. You actually have Apple to thank for getting the smartphone into the lives of millions but it created the slab as a result of it. Or to be politicaly correct it uniformed the mobile.
