Waiting for it
I still have very fond memories of my RAZR V3i with iTunes support, such a unique phone. Kids these days missed out and don't know what it's like to use a special phone.
1500 is too expensive but its such a nice phone to have.
Anonymous, 18 Jan 2019Even my good'ol Moto RAZR V8 costed less than this on it's release. What is it made? GOLD? did it have an actual v8?
Anonymous, 18 Jan 2019Even my good'ol Moto RAZR V8 costed less than this on it's release. What is it made? GOLD? And why wouldn't it? It was a featurephone and it was about 12 years ago. It would be shocking if a 2019 flagship did cost less.
However, the Luxury edition of the RAZR2 V8 was anything but cheap. And you can add 12 years of inflation on top of that as well
At least this was true foldable phone instead of that phablet from Samsung which instead of folding breaks into half.

How pathetic it is! It is time for Lenovo to dump the Motorola unit.
Thats too much of a price. They should rethink about the pricing.
This is the first foldable concept that looks interesting. Of course not at that price
Lyndino, 16 Jan 2019I know right, my first thought was 'why'?Oofey.... there will be a time when we'll consider 800$ a budget in this rate... x_X
Avalonsama, 17 Jan 2019 manufacturing cost of the device is likely to be higher than 600$. So 1500$ for 1st gen is ju... moreEh. I know the manufacturing costs of a few current non foldable flagships is like between 350-400; but they're upcharging it to 900-1000. I'll wait for a teardown to see if the $1500 is a fair price, but I seriously doubt it

is that motoblur in that image?
Thesis86, 17 Jan 2019Drop this to $600...watch all the adults from my generation (old millennials) buy it again and... more manufacturing cost of the device is likely to be higher than 600$. So 1500$ for 1st gen is justifiable
yes moto razer !! my favorite phone as best ever purchased phone especially the design wise
but &%$#$% the price dude, with that price i rather go the conventional phone with more or better spec & features.
Drop this to $600...watch all the adults from my generation (old millennials) buy it again and dominate. The industry is looking for an alternative outside of the Samsung, Huawei, and Apple trifecta. Moto, with its relatively innocuous, inoffensive and friendly software could be it.
Protrusions at the hinge sides....is....abit...
Honnestly, if us, customers, agreed to pay 1500$ for a phone, then we're lost.
A Foldable phone is new, yes
It does bring innovation, yes
But it can't, doesn't matter the innovation, be priced at over +150% more than current flagships.
I mean, prices keeps rising, S10+ 5G is set to cost 1500$ as well, the middle range phones of today costs as much as 2012 flagships, and the top range ones as much a 2012 high end PC.
As long as we keep buyin, we agreed to more and more expensive devices.
It's 2019 and people are doing loans just to pays theirs phones !
Back in the early 2010s NO ONE would have believe such thing.
1500???????????????
