what the hell happened to the supposed 12mp camera?? look ugly, the original arc was prettier! c'mon sony ....pull yer socks up
It is fake (just concept) ;)
Anonymous, 13 Dec 2011Remember when tech sites do their research? I did. Now all they do is compete who can post the... moreThat's not exactly new: I remember how I laughed some years ago when Mobile-Review showed the first "leaked images" of the "Siemens SX2". :D
Soooo. . .. Sony will launch a dual-core 1GHz, 4" qHD screen and 1GB phone in mid 2012?
Jey? This is basically Motorola Atrix specs. And that was launched Feb. this year.
Where's your quad-core Sony? HD screen res? Properly calibrated OLED of some sorts worthy of Bravia logo?
Come'an, tempt us!
And no easy-break plastic please.
Ericsson was once groundbreaking in the mobile world. Sony Ericsson had some okay phones, but they never lasted long due to buggy FW, and pretty much all had a cheap feel. On Android they've been lagging behind others. Seems Sony has no ambition to change this when they go out on their own :/
Meehhh!!!, 14 Dec 2011I belive its a high end phone... How can it be mid with there specefications?because in 2012 high end phones will be quad core with 10 and 12 mp cameras, these specs have been in phones for 9 months already so at the very best it will be dated, the likes of samsung will have the gs3 out by then which will be the high end device on the market with apple following about 6 months behind that.
ithehappy, 14 Dec 2011For Gods sake SONY bring the OLED technology in your displays, for Gods sake.
You guys are kn... moreYou are absolutely wrong.. the greatest display manufacturer in the world today is Samsung and LG/Phillips...
I dont want to buy a Samsung phone, but I would buy a Samsung TV or monitor anyday over any brand.....
About the phone.. it is just another mid end device... and quite doubtful about the design.. thick at the end, it looks like it had arthritis.... maybe good in ergonomics, but lookwise...awwweeee
ilove the shape , so silm at the top part :)
Oh yeah... beautiful desing... decent specs. Give it a nice price tag and here comes my X10i successor... ;)
For Gods sake SONY bring the OLED technology in your displays, for Gods sake.
You guys are known as the best display producer, why not do same with Mobiles?
I am disgusted with Samsung and wanna come back to my favorite........
I belive its a high end phone... How can it be mid with there specefications?
With its 4 inch qHD screen and 8 MP camera, by next year this will not be considered a high-end smart phone! Sony, please work harder.
torcida, 13 Dec 2011What means "mid-range" for you... And what is "hig-end"!?Mid-end for next year are 1-1.2 ghz dual core phones, high-end are 1.5 ghz quad core, or 2.0 ghz dual core arm a-15 phones.
AnonD-30588, 14 Dec 2011waste my time to buy this phone cuz it's not perfect at allIf that is the case, good luck to u in finding your "perfect phone", which i doubt.
AnonD-12237, 14 Dec 2011Sony is applying the cookie cutter design, just like what HTC is doing on all there phones, an... moreOk, that's your opinion about recycling product design, which is not really a bad idea if the design is still relevant, but when new phone is coming out, you cant help but to be so eager to not only see what is inside the phone, but also eager to see what is the new design that the new model brings, and to see it something similar with previous model of phone somewhat disappoint you a bit.
I have not been a fan of SE since i moved away from their phones years ago. Their UI design for android phones wasnt appealing to me, and that goes for the phone design as well.. although I must admit the Arc was a nice supriese.
Now that Sony and Ericsson are ending their relationship, I think Sony should go back to the drawing board and work on a new design that would distinguish them on the market all over again. In their shoes I would also lose the Xperia name tag. Sony has been in the music business for decades so they should definitely do something with their walkman series as well (the current models are not appealing to me), maybe something along the lines of HTC+beats. (Imagine here a Walkman branding on the back that lights up in orange when you plug in your Sony headphones.)
Sony should be careful, and take their next step slowly. They are in the position to make a real impact in the smartphone market but only if they can come up with something new and fresh.
Mid-2012 and Gingerbread? A joke. Another joke: qHD resolution.
Bill, 14 Dec 2011The irony of your comment is that this phone and almost every other high end phone you use wil... morei dont follow....chinese knockoff = every phone made in china? no....and also, parts from china =/= assembled in china ~ on another note, i have a SE Arc and love it, but this is a step in the other direction.
It's fake look at the website of concept phones
waste my time to buy this phone cuz it's not perfect at all
