Nano Memory card and Nano-sim just a little smaller, while the funky multiple cameras setup already use up a lot of space.
Well they are smaller and equal soon they will be a lot better than current ones we have to wait give it a try.
Lyndino, 22 Jan 2019Why the need for multiple sim cards? I don't get it.The memory card has an evolution and has changed so many times from CF cards to micro SD cards. I've had phones that have had some weird memory cards.

Huawei stated that they are making the NM card to replace the microSD and offering free for others to adopt / implement. So pretty much they are trying to make it standard when it doesn't need to be. Keep it with Huawei.

Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG, they all have the SD card slot.
Only Fuggle doesn't have it because they want your data on their servers ;)
If a phone lacks the SD slot, I'm suddenly not interested in it anymore. It may be the best phone out there, but for me it's useless junk.

Th... moreWell I could have liked the idea of having a dual-sim that can be mono-sim+NM card, but seriously, the idea of removing the sim to load up data on the card then removing the NM to load up the SIM, when you could just transfer it on a USB stick or via data transferÂ… You like complicated things aren't you? :D
I don't see anything wrong with this. Most smartphones don't have expandable storage. Huawei just offered NM cards for their mate 20 series phones. You don't have to buy one, it is solely for mate 20 series phones if users want to expand their storage. The price of NM cards here in my country is the same as micro SD cards so it is a win win for me.
Anonymous, 22 Jan 2019There is some confusion regarding NM (NanoSD) standard introduced by Huawei at Mate 20 series ... moreI don't see Samsung (seeing that they make their own microSD cards), LG, Sony, nor HTC supporting this but I do see Xiaomi, Asus, Apple (as long as they make their own proprietary nano memory cards), Vivo, Oppo, and wait for it: OnePlus supporting it however so it could gain traction since the brands I mentioned don't care for microSD cards.
Huawei can keep their proprietary cards to themselves. Better yet, they can keep their phones too.
Do they expect me to toss all of my microSD cards for their new standard no one will ever use?
This is a very elegant design. (Unlike the stupid memory-stick design from Sony. Haha.)
The introduction of NM (NanoSD) makes it possible to have a standard slot with a shared interface such that a NanoSIM and a NM are interchangeable. Suppose you have a phone with only one NanoSIM slot. You can pull out that SIM and put in a NM so that you can copy files from the internal ROM to NM. You can put back the SIM once the file move operation is completed. In other words, every smartphone will support extended memory, in one way or other, in the future if this NM standard is accepted.
Umm why should I be interested in some SD that only works with spying huawei garbage phones when I can and will go and buy the 400GB microSD from SanDisk that is recognized by any kind of phone or device?
Never going to buy a huawei product!
