Installed it today, couldnt get Data to work, and overall performance was slow, the keyboard was horribly slow.

Good thing is we will now see alot of new custom rom's coming out with ICS as the drivers are now available :

I don't think anybody will dare to put beta on his phone.....
Prity cool politics from samsung to answer people of those countries who are complaining about being on 2.3.3 only.
I am pretty sure it will get release in India, malesia......

burim, 14 Dec 2011Well ICS for Desire HD made by xda devs is faster than this, the red square will disappear , a... moreDon't be jealous. This a hint of "official" update rather than a private update from some developers.

I'm pretty sure ICS rom for GS2 from xda was released EARLIER than anyother phones. In fact I heard that one of xda developer made the ICS rom for the galaxy S and that was about 1 or 2 weeks after Google officially announced ICS.

Well ICS for Desire HD made by xda devs is faster than this, the red square will disappear , and i dont know why gsmarena made all that comment for multitasking swype thing, we have seen that from the beggining when Galaxy Nexus was released...nothing new on that multitasking . Actually the desire hd phones runs ics beta versions almost for 2 weeks.

Can someone explain why the weird thick red rectangle appears every time an application or setting is launched?

First appearance time: 1:11 (between 1:10 and 1:12)

uj, 14 Dec 2011Did u ppl notice that phone was a lil bit slower than usually it is ...???And did you realize that this is an early alpha build. :-P

They have not finished much. Even Touchwiz would get a makeover by the time the final build comes.

If this OS runs slower on the SGS2, then I'm never buying another Android phone again. It would mean that Google have released bloatware.

Dual core should run it smoothly with no lag.
