Until Nokia gets an Exmor R back illuminated sensor Sony's... moreYou must be out of your mind. Theres no phone can beat N8s camera
That may probably an exmor but its not the exmor they put on their digicams/DSLR, that only is the low-end version.
Please try to compare xperias cam to nokia 8MP vs 9MP of N8, youll see big difference.
lol, 15 Dec 2011let's just get one thing clear : Until Nokia gets an Exmor R back illuminated sensor Sony's... moreHaha, GSMarena also posted the comparison of how Exmor R perform badly compare to the N8 sensor, it only performs well in night mode only. In high end camera or camcorder...of SONY only or the other brands, then maybe you are the SONY fanboi, i dont think that exmor R has appeared on the other brands except Iphone 4s, and SONY dslr are not the first choice for proffesional photographer
Why so many silly people concern about smart phones look? You silly people must concern about good batteries, excellent camera, excellent phone quality! Smart phone look it's most least problem!
What I need from Nokia just excellent quality handset with good specifications and ultimate phone camera. Because in our market no any good smart camera phones except old Nokia n8.
The front of the phone exactly looks like 5800XM just that it is missing the media shortcut key on top right...
I guess it will be running Symbian Belle...
Should have better appearance and shape cause this looks like it is going back to the past...
GrainySnapshot, 16 Dec 2011This might never hit the market. Remember the various versions of the "N87"?. One ... moreAnd most of them were just that, concepts and fantasies that were never realised unfortunately. I remember most of the whacky concepts for Nokia in 2006, the N98 with a CD slot (like wtf??) being one of them and the N99 which had that odd qwerty keyboard and a full fledged Microsoft Office programme. The N86 to this day is one of the best sliders ever, I personally preferred the white colour as opposed to the black.
lol, 15 Dec 2011let's just get one thing clear : Until Nokia gets an Exmor R back illuminated sensor Sony's... moreI think you have not used Nokia camera Carl Zize version. No comparison, my N 78 with 3.2MP is better than Xperia arc 8 MP which I own now.
This might never hit the market. Remember the various versions of the "N87"?. One was the same as the N86 but upgraded to 12MP (that is the one you will find on gsmarena if you search on N87). Other sites (eg Slashgear) had line drawings of a blocky touch screen 12MP phone. None of them were much like the N8 that was ultimately released.
There's an old saying that "familiarity breeds contempt" and IMO IOS and android have already reached that point.
There's only one platform that will grow over the next 24 months - Windows Phone. The others will see their precious market share disappear: IOS to 20% and android to 25%
RVM, 15 Dec 2011Just look at the buttons and display aspect ratio. This will be Symbian fosho.I agree. Windows Phones have three buttons but they are marked with a back arrow, the Windows logo and a search icon. Symbian ^3 phones that have three front buttons (which is most of them: C7, 500, 603, 700, 701, C6-01, x7-00, Oro) are marked with open phone (start call), line (home button) and phone down (end call). Note that the N8 and E7 (and the T7 derivative of the N8) were the only Symbian ^3 phones that had only one hardware button on the front screen. I also agree that this looks like one ugly phone.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Nokia needs *strategy* to thrive. IMHO that strategy should be see s40 for pure featurephones, Sym ^3 for low-mid appliance like smartphones and WP7 for their flagships.
The N8 remains the best cameraphone at the moment and this new one could replace it at the top. Like N8 it's unlikely to be the best smartphone, but Nokia caters to all markets.

Nokia is now less than 50% of what they were worth last year.
well is true nokia falls behind. i could say i'm a nokia fanboy, starting with N82, which i still OWN, going to N95-96 N900 and N8 + E90 and E7. all those phones are excellent by my standards. i never managed to get my hands on a galaxy S2, but i did owned and Iphone 3GS and sold it pretty fast. a pretty bullshit phone. dunno about S4, but the Iphone 3 was CRAP. my nokia's were over it in any aspects. so Iphone is not the standard by my opinion.

Samsung wished they have a hit like the N8 but they don't. Samsung fans are envy and will throw excuses like what you're doing. The numbers don't lie and whether you want to admit it or not, Nokia is doing things right while Samsung fumbles and falls behind. lmao
I think this is the real deal because i saw some pictures on the web, showing protective cases for a phone with such form factor and camera. I think the phone will come installed with Windows Phone instead of Symbian and could be launched on the American market.
Let me say dat symbian is a legend..so is nokia...but today symbian does not stands a chance against androids...and SGS2 is d best smartphne world has seen till now.. Even d amoled screen we see at nokia is produced by samsung and got patented for it..

let's just get one thing clear :
Until Nokia gets an Exmor R back illuminated sensor Sony's xperias will have the upper hand. The ultimate camera phone.
There's nothing else that cam take on an Exmor R sensor. Period. For God's sake Exmor R is used in high end cameras and camcorders.
