Dont dismiss the Xs bokeh so easily, i shot some 4K 60fps videos at sea last week and all i can say is awesome. Its not a software background blur but real bokeh.
Using extra lenses in this video or not, Xs has the best real life video performance, but i can see why some trendy users think its not fancy enough, theres not enough postprocessing to cater to some users, but when put side by side theres no doubt whats closest to nature, Xs wins easily, now we just need more detail on 2x zoom, if iphone 11 fixes that weakness we have a winner.
Hotkolbas, 29 Jan 2019The term is mutton dressed as lamb. Yes it is ridiculous, but do people take these seriousl... moreLet me pose the question the other way round: If videos like this had no expected effect on the sales, do you think aPple (or any other company) would waste money on them?
Anonymous, 27 Jan 2019Even ugly chick can be cute with enough surgery and make-up. It's fine if they use peripherals... moreThe term is mutton dressed as lamb.
Yes it is ridiculous, but do people take these seriously enough to go yep I'll purchase a phone just by the bucket video.
Reminds me of the time when the Sony XZ came out, I worked at a phone store. The sample images loaded onto the phone to show off its "incredible" camera still had the EXIF data intact, and it clearly stated it was shot on a Canon 5D Mark 3 and Canon 16-35mm 2.8L lens.
Anonymous, 28 Jan 2019Why do u want that to happen? GeezI don't like scammers.
Steve Max, 28 Jan 2019Actually, the sensor is the least important part. Take a old Canon T3 with the best possible L... moreI totally agree, other than the Redmi Note 4 part (whose sensor isn't really suited for some of the lighting conditions, lacking the dynamic range to capture some of that detail). The thing is, we are all playing right into Apple's hand. By denying a straight fact (which is actually a meaningless one), we are giving them free publicity, without passing across the real message -- yes, any flagship camera phone is now decent enough to replace compact cameras. For those with deep pockets and which also happen to be mentally insane, they could also spend a lot more one special gear that allows them to take way better pictures, but at a far higher cost than just buying the proper gear outright (which, incidentally, would also trounce any smartphone).
See, we can all expose the marketing stunt without denying there's indeed an iPhone there.
abigfanoftechs, 28 Jan 2019Let's hope iPhone will go in the same as the old Nokia.
;-)Why do u want that to happen?
[deleted post]Well that you openly say that you will buy whatever they sell, I'm afraid that says more about you than about their products. (And there are some more or less nasty labels for that I will refrain from repeating)
I can not think of ANY company (with a portfolio of more than a few items) where I would even consider buying one of every product they make...
Wh00pS, 28 Jan 2019The iPhone camera is not the most used in the world. That crown would go to Sony who's image ... moreRight.undisputed Sony with the exmor rs sensors. Sony the absolute king of camera sensors. Not even Apple come close. That the fact.
Kerginaldo, 27 Jan 2019Apple lying, always deceiving its naive consumers!!! What a shame!"What a shame" indeed - and unfortunately not "what a surprise"...
definitely bogus. of fcourse it was shot on the iphone xs it has world's best camera phone
Actually, the sensor is the least important part. Take a old Canon T3 with the best possible L-class lenses and a 5D MK3 with the cheapest lenses you can find: the T3 with good lenses will give you better images. The use of a iPhone sensor is irrelevant, the images are a product of good lenses, good videographers and good processing with a sensor that isn't bad enough to crap out the images. The result would be very similar with a similar setup using a Redmi Note 4.
Anonymous, 28 Jan 2019The lens is as important as the sensor in videography. Does Apple make lenses? Half the credit... moreActually the videographer (aka person behind the camera) is far more important than all the gear combined. We can play this game all day, the fact there is an iPhone shooting that footage still doesn't change.
Anonymous, 28 Jan 2019yes, exactly as true as the fact iphone made by usaIgnoring the fact that in western societies goods aren't "made by" countries, but rather "made in", the fundamental thing you failed to understand is the difference between assembling/manufacturing from actually designing the product and making it work.
Yes it's obviously taken with a little bit of help from other hardware ;)
But the guys who are bashing Apple here in the coments maybe don't know that Android phone maker did the same trick. And even in good old Nokia days there were some cheating ;) mildly said.
So you decide for yourself if you give all of your personal data, all your work or in other words your entire life to Google and even pay for it
or if you buy an Apple iPhone for a bit more money where your data is only provided to the NSA but not to every other corporation who pays Google for it.
Would like to tests apple phones same way as Xiaomi Redmi note 7 which ones is more durable.
I bet xiaomi will win.
