I'm surprise they were able to throw out so many features as it is. Just imagine you having to deal with only your own family as compared to everyone out there.

Does it even make normal sense that these kind of things are released after years, take an entire new release of Android to implement when there are actual apps to do the same?

It's just a massive scheme to rip off money, trying to show "slow" progress. Sad reality

                >There will also be a new feature dubbed Sensor Privacy, which will allow you to disable all sensors. The purpose of this feature is a bit unclear as of now.

I'm also wondering why this was added, as we all know Google likes to gather as much data from you as possible.

Apple only developed faceid on order to charge more, there is bo rhyme or reason for the discontinuance of fingerprint id

In Homeland Carrie Matheson accessed or opened a rogue unconscious FBI Agents iPhone by pressing hospital unconscious finger against his locked iPhone

All Google and Apple are doing is bringing forth money generating aspects and Apps

FaceID is going to end relationships when a person opens a phone while they were sleeping a suspicious partner checks it.

Apple just wants people to interact with their phone no waiting, now Google without a serious O/S to emulate is playing catch up.

5G is being rolled out now and all Google are offering is cosmetic changes

the best part of android is it has some fun Linux futures like masking!
if you mask for example camera service it is impossible for any other service to load it(it is like there is no actual camera HW)
you can read about masking in linux systemd site!

No, not at all. Please educate yourself first before you comment in this way. Each YEAR there is a major android update, and lots (at least 12) smaller ones, that don't change first number. Only major updates change first number(and also letter)

I see nothing interesting. I already have AZ Screen Recorder, so getting it natively is nothing new. I rarely use that app anyway.

I'm happy with Pie. I hope for some refinements with the gesture swipes. I'm actually content with my LG phones still on Marshmallow and Nougat.
