That latest teaser from Sony is called "Speed of Light" which I think is a direct reference to 5G or the maybe even the camera.

Woah...
Still using my Z ultra. Although it looks pretty scratched - I bought a case only after two years of usage. Because in the current trand so many phones have more than 6.5 inches screen, I thought if I ever replace my Sony, then it will be something bigger. When Mate 20 X appeared on the horizon, it was so tempting to lay my hands on it. Glad that I restraied myself until new XZ4 was anounced. Great successor for my Z ultra!

Pixels in new 48mp etc sensors are so tiny (because sensors are small) that they are practically useless unless lightning condition is superb. So yes, actually it's 12mpx sensor that CAN do shitty 48mpx photos. You should study what quad bayer actually means.

There is no sign for this (52MP) camera sensor anywhere on the internet... yet most websites says its improved version or IMX586 (48MP).... improved sensor should get its own number i think.
and the IMX666 is already there and capable of taking videos at 21:9, maybe this is the real sensor that will be in XZ4.... or XZ4 Premium :)

Sony is the most capable of best compressing and decompressing pixels in its camera department. For sure will have best results in this case too!

I call BS on the 52mp sensor. At 2x digital zoom, it will have 13mp resolution, making the telephoto completely redundant. That is unless the telephoto is 3x zoom.
Sony's 19mp module is great. All they need is a better exposure algorithm, and it will be untouchable by their own 12mp module, that's in use by almost everyone else, such as Pixels, iPhones, etc.

Anonymous, 01 Feb 2019First of All I'm not a pixel fan I don't even own one , and I'm sorry but camera comparison sp... moreIf you absolutely don't care about the versatility at all and like Google's typical "Pixel colours" with crushed blacks and slight magenta hue then Pixel will just fulfil your needs.. but for me and many other people single camera on a flagship phone just doesn't cut it, and there are many other devices that do better than Pixel in some area. Besides, considering how well HDR+ algorithm is made, they could've done even better job if it had a telephoto lens. They omitted one because they wanted to cut costs since multi-camera modules can be quite expensive, and there's no other way to put it.
