Foldable smartphone reminds me of Nokia Communicator. The size will be the same, bit wider thou.
I believe someone made at least 1 mistake in the text:
"21:9 and a resolution of 1960 x 480 pixels"
1960x480 is not 21:9 ratio, it is closer to 4:1.
A 4.6 inch 21:9 screen is like a 3.7 inch 16:9 screen, which is way too small by today's standards.
If this information is correct, it makes sense to call this device a foldable tablet with an external screen. I'd remove the extra screen, call it a foldable tablet and sell at around $300. Or make it slightly bigger and put in 120hz screen and stylus and sell it for $500 to kill iPad Pro (which is simply too expensive for me).

480p is just too low.
Anonymous, 12 Feb 2019Don't really follow your point as the iPhone is "still" crap....It's less crap then before
exactly. I don't want a device that has a size of a tablet, and when I fold it out I get 2xtablet, but I want a compact phone which folds out to a tablet
s-pen pusher, 11 Feb 2019sorry, but i just can't help it. apple had this 4 years ago with the iphone 6. okay, you can k... moreApple reminds me of Nokia. They made great and wonderful looking phones and people bought them and eventually it became a lifestyle product. Nokia then started to build on this and did not notice that innovation would eventually kill a phone built on lifestyle customers. come on, who wants to carry an Apple iPhone that is out of date ? In the realm of Innovation, lifestyle has no place, but it can be a winner if lifestyle is included with Innovation.

Not all hate the concept. Some people probably feel that they can do more with foldables than a conventional smartphone form factor.
Anonymous, 12 Feb 2019How does that logic make sense when current 6" phones don't fit well in-pocket? If anything, t... more6 inch phones in the damn 18/9 ratio aspect fits easy most pockets, even the old 6 inch phones in my loving 16/9 fits most pockets to. So thats not true.
Im a normal size guy, with normal jeans and pockets.
My mate 20 x fiits my pockets, my old mi max 3, honor note 10 crappy sammy note 8 and honor 8x max all fits normal pockets (y)
If they make them so tiny, it will never be like a tablet size at all. And big normal phones we already have.
Luxor, 12 Feb 2019Is it important to go to school when everyone hates it? You gotta do what you gotta do. Hay, maybe some or just a little hate going to school, but not everyone. A lot of people / children around the world beg to have got a scholarship. Even Gates does not hate school, he just feel that he can do more than he can do at school.
"The smaller display will sit on the outer cover of the phone and have an aspect ratio of 21:9"
Samsung fanboys read this and says it's cool, innovative aspect ratio....
at the same time they are bashing Sony for the new 21:9 aspect ratio and they will say
-it's a gimmick.
-the end of sony.
-they won't sell any phone.
-the screen is too tall.
-i can't put it in my pocket.

If anything, the folded phone should be smaller to make cell phones portable and pocketable again during transport, with the option of unfolding to a phablet or tablet-sized device when in use.
