Since you cannot record calls anymore with Pie (thanks Google..), I'm not going to update.

No I don't have this problem & if I did, I'd contact Customer Services as all Samsung smartphones (E.U. & U.K., I don't know about elsewhere) come with a 2 year guarantee.
He could go into Settings> Advanced features> Motions & gestures, then take a screenshot of existing settings before experimenting with changes.
Hope he gets sorted soon.
My friends S9+ is horrible after the update to Pie.
The statusbar icons are very ugly, the display flickers like crazy when he has an incoming phone call (sometimes it won't react to display touches and cannot answer calls) and he noticed that the battery life went down faster. Also, the new gesture buttons are sometimes getting in conflict with full screen apps like games and it ruins the whole experience.
Anyone else experiencing these problems?
I still think pure android is best.
Any UI contains a lot of useless bloatware.
To be honest every user should pick on their own what to have or dont have in a phone. This is jsut ridiculous.
Yeah, of course Security Updates are the most important, IMO the MINIMUM should be:
3 years= Entry level
4 years= Midrange
5 years= Flagship
Any OEM which provides less should be named & shamed, any achieving or exceeding should be praised.
Got Pie & One UI end of Jan & it's not that special (I had night mode, etc on Nougat S6), I was happy with Oreo, the floating keyboard is kinda cool, but I do recommend reviewing your App Permissions & Settings.
@ Akaike: Try downloading Android Pie with One UI manually?
Settings> Software Update> Dowload updates manually.
Available in Canada since last week. And on the Note9
Note7 owner, 11 Feb 2019Anyone buying a Samsung buys into not getting updates. Simple Buddy, that's just not true
Note7 owner, 11 Feb 2019Anyone buying a Samsung buys into not getting updates. Simple Android yearly updates on samsungs are useless as samsung will already have all those features and much more that will be lacking in stock android .. lol. It only matters like once in 3-4 years when samsung changes their UI theme like this One UI. And again .. these are not available on every other android ..so I don'y mind waiting for it ... Simple !!
Note7 owner, 11 Feb 2019Anyone buying a Samsung buys into not getting updates. Simple I'm getting security updates and that's basicaly all I need. Anyway all last OS updates are so similar.
So why is it that some units don't get it? Like I understand it's a small percentage that don't have it, but it is interesting
