But I can tell you I would still use my 808 if the micro-USB was not dead... It would be only for calls and sms (no more WhatsApp or things like that) but I would rather stay with those 38MP even with all its limitation... Opera Mini was working great on top of that! I guess will have to wait and see what's come next. That's me just putting pixel-peeping processing above anything else. I know the vast majority of people don't care about that...

I'm waiting for the same. The 808 still takes phenomenal photos. But it does lack in a few areas to today's devices.
And while this might not match it in reserved detail in auto mode it should still have its advantages. Plus still have much more detail than others.
But focus and dynamic range plus maybe even somehow light.
As well as maybe a good pro mode.
Not to mention other implementations will follow.
However...flagships sticking around the 12 to 16mp area at this point is killing me.

... moreWell, it's a fact that those 48Mp shots a much worse than the 38Mp shots of my old Nokia 808. The processing is nowhere near of what the 808 is capable of, except probably for the dynamic range, which is very narrow on the 808...
So yeah, 2019, and I'm still waiting for a worthy replacement to my 808, photography wise. But I know it's probably not completely fare to compare a 48Mp quad-bayer to a 38Mp "full res" much bigger sensor. Still, those shot pixel-peeping level of bad.

The photo is compressed, therefore the photo is just 36MP. But I think Xiaomi still need to work hard on detail as the photo zoom, there is so many noise.

Not to mention my Sony ... moreComparing APS-C (or any dedicated camera sensor over 1") to a bloody mobile phone sensor that's 1/2" in size is retarded to begin with. Glad you like your Sony A6400, but GTFO with the elitism.
What these photos show from that tiny sensor is bloody great results!

Clearly there is some processing and they are not the most amazing photos anyone has seen.
But the negative comments here are heavily exaggerating and and not factually based.
Everyone needs to grow up and learn how to use your brain before commenting here.

What "incredible details"? The fur looks so fake and like oil painting effects. Huawei photography capabilities is still much better than Xiaomi anytime. I have been saying, Xiaomi cameras are always bad regardless of flagship or not.
