As the code name: LT28at, I think that phone is made for AT&T.

N8 will give the crown in 2012, but to Nokia 803 (or whatever the name of the N8 succesor will be), not to a Sony phone ;) But hey, for Android fans it's great news, they might finally have a decent camera in a phone (SE Arc simply sucks, especially in low light).

Chewy, 21 Dec 2011There is absoloutely no need for anything over 5MP on a phone, unless you're blowing the image... moreI guess 5mp this days is to little but ... 8mp are fine enough. Mp race isn't any good, they should improve actual cameras instead. Experia Arc has almost same sensor as Iphone 4s but cheaper components makes it's camera actualy worse.

            Amount of Mpixels isn't everything.
What important is - size of the sensor and the optics.

When will people realise that bigger MP does not = better camera?

Wow! This will surely be a tough fight even if Samsung and HTC release their quad-core phones. A fine phone camera is a front line spec that other smartphone companies should consider. I like it Sony. I might as well save money as early as now for this.

Nokia N8 Carl Zeiss optics are way better than those creepy SONY lens!!!
Probably the upcoming smartphone for SE cannot replace the best camera phone on planet!

AnonD-35073, 21 Dec 2011Dont need Carl Zeiss lens and large sensor, this is 1.12 micron of Sony. Just the experiences ... moreI don't need Carl Zeiss neither. Actually if they put in it same cheapo plastic lenses as in Xperia Arc I'd be verry happy ... And same single use case as (again) in Xperia Arc wich peels off after 2-3 months. Yeey.
