Obviously AppStore sells more apps than Android market. There was article on that in Business Week like 1 month ago explaining why.

The reason is because iPhone and iPad users has to buy or download alot of apps that Android phones and tablets have inbedded in the OS from start.

I remember when iPhone users where making fun Symbian OVI store because Appstore was selling more apps. Have you ever seen a E-series or N-series Nokia? They come preloaded with every app you can think of so you don't need to buy it.

Iphone and Ipad users confuse a successfull Appstore with the fact that Apple are making them pay for apps other OS users get for free when they buy a phone or tablet.

It's like saying that Toyotas aftermarket is a big hit and very successful because they sell alot of accessories and BMW are losing because they don't sell as much extra stuff. It's because BMW cars comes with alot accessories from the start that Toyota users have to buy.

Same formula..

Probably that's why every cool new game first comes to IOS and then to android...

The reason why apple is going about suing people is because the can see that the market has become very competitive since the inception of google android. If not for Google I'm sure by now people would get charged ridiculous amount on apps just because they buy from 'THE APP STORE'.

[deleted post]may be you need to take off your hat and open up your mind...look at getjar gold sale, they are providing 100 paid apps for free!! not only getjar but amazon also provides one paid app for free per day!! this is the power of open source... while on iOS you've to pay for apps which are required for basic features...this may be good for devs and apple but not for customers unless you still feast on your parents' income and dont care about the hardwork they put before it..

the problem with android is that some apps are much expensive then IOS and the second problem is that most people who have a android normally get their apps from priate website this is why their isnt much apps compare to IOS and dev dont make that much money

and this is how retarts get virus on their phone and blames it on google this what pisses me off

yellow, 21 Dec 2011cheap android users dont pay for apps..u know apps cost a lot of money and hard work to make!!... moreiPhone-users are more willing to waste their money on apps that they rarely use after their first try, and most apps are not really hard or expensive at all to develop. iPhones cost more but can do less, but iPhone-user like to pay extra for the Apple-logo! Apple have created a "cult" that belive that anything that is more expensive must be better, and that is why apps cost so much more because iPhone-users like to waste their money while Android-users are not that easily fooled!
Apps for WP7 are even more expensive than Apple AppStore-apps, and just like on PC... Microsoft suck money from the users, Microsoft Office for PC cost a big fortune to buy but some fools still buy it even though OpenOffice... can do exactly the same but is for free! Apple, and Microsoft/Nokia, try to do anything to fool users to "give"/pay them their hard-earned money, and app-developers on Apple AppStore do ofcourse take advantage of the easily fooled iPhone-/iPad- users! On Android Market greedy app-developers can not so easily fool users to pay too much for their apps...! It is actually a bad thing for users that AppStore make so much "revenue", take so much of the users money!

Which is why Apple get the best apps and first.

Android profits will be even less when hundreds of thousands of SGS2 owners ask for a refund for GTA3.
