The Samsung fold should have better durability because of its design but honestly it doesn't look that nice and I know the mate X is apparently less practical, I'd still prefer it because of how it looks and the facts it has a notchless front screen of 6.6 inches compared to Samsung's minimal display, I think if Samsung's front display was bigger then it would be a closer call and Samsung fold would be the better choice, but unfortunately this hasn't happened .

Huawri is probably drunk, ecpecting it to sell well, price is stupid, same as design. Inner fold, how you going to protect side of the screen, when is folded? Samsung optiin is they better and cheaper little bit. Huawei really needs to rethink is strategy. You are not Applle or Samsung, and people definitely not trust you around the world, but they acting like they are big shots, so funny

Samsu... moreIf compare this one to high-end laptop, I will choose a laptop, because it has hardware keyboard, more software can use, replaceable battery, longer endurance, bigger screen, better sound quality. But it is chunky camera is mediocre and not so portable compare to fold-phone.

You are just reluctant to admit that the price quoted by one of your favourite Chinese companies is too high. Samsung Fold is cheaper than Huawei Mate X, if you didn't know that.

CptPower, 25 Feb 2019There are no specs said yet. And Samsung is unpractical as always and very fragile as always. ... moreLolz! Samsung Fold is far more durable than your outward folding Mate X. Your Mate X do look beautiful but Samsung's concept is much better to protect the screen eventhough it's not as beautiful as Mate X. Moreover, your Mate X price is beyond unbelievable than the already unbelievable Samsung Fold price

I think some anonymous guy working for Huawei is posting constant comments on both fold and mate X articles. Hahaha .

My opinion fold is much better and more premium. Samsung nailed it this year with there beginning of launch.

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2019You agree to Huawei's pricing also?Yes and no.
They are bit expensive for a chinese brand but far more inovative than Samsung or Sony so its OK.
And even if they are a bit pricey compared to other chinese brands they are not as much expensive as Samsung or Sony or that Apple made in china.

Comparison of Huawei Mate X and Samsung Fold.
Huawei Mate X: Folding-out. Creates soft crease(s), fully recoverable, and without hard-crease line(s).

Samsung Fold: Folding-in. Creates hard crease(s), with visible and unrecoverable hard-crease line(s).

A close-up look at Huawei Mate X by a German reporter:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ffuJQBA-6M
No hard-crease line(s) can be observed on the screen.

Huawei Mate X in action in close-up. The commentary offered by the reviewer is spot-on:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq991Q43pkw
No hard-crease line(s) can be observed on the screen.

Promotional videos and pictures from Samsung have tried to hide the center crease line(s). But take a look at Samsung Fold from the following video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gS9CWfLg1zg
Play this video with slow-motion (0.25 of full speed), at around 0:51 you will see a very clear hard crease line in the middle.

My client Roy said that the phone is charged to full capacity at same time he showers and shaves. The 8 inch screen reminds me of the 8" RCA portable TV my father bought on store credit for $32 a month for 36 months in 1977 so yeah I'm considering this phone because I know where the smartphone market is trending; bigger screens so yeah I'm yearning for the days I get a 32" smartphone with 500gb and , 20gvnRAM

$2,600??? What??? And I thought the Samsung galaxy fold was too expensive. This doesn't make sense. You cant take selfies or have video calls with the full screen. No protection for the full screen. The fast charging is good and likely the camera but if that screen isn't bulletproof then what is the point? Then again the Samsung Fold looks more premium, comes with more colour offerings and gets released earlier. Oh well, lets wait for Apple and LG.

CptPower, 25 Feb 2019There are no specs said yet. And Samsung is unpractical as always and very fragile as always. ... morepls use your head. Samsung's screens are inside a fold. and the outside screen is constructed smaller so that you can have bezels to hold the phone when closed. Based on these, it is certainly NOT more fragile than the Chinese one where all the screens are outside and big and no bezels to hold it securely in your hand. Think before you talk, that's all you are needed to do
