... morePhones don't turn into bricks just because they didn't receive the latest update. Get real.
Xperia X10 Mini Pro serves me very well with Android 2.1.

shame on u samsung...u r spending so mch on ur r and d...but wen it comes to provinding services to one of d bst smartphones of 2010 u are giving these lme xcuses...u sold 20million galaxy s lst year...no othr fone have got such huge sucess thn galaxy s...still no update for it....its a shame and puts a question mark on ur credibility...

This is just a complete let-down. i just got a galaxy tab 7.0 and liked it so much i convinced my mother she should get one instead of the ipad (due to the ease of the smaller and therefor more manageable size) she has only had it for a month or so and now she won't be getting the new update?!? wtf samsung? way to let down faithful customers. i will not be buying another of their devices for this reason alone...

AnonD-7741, 25 Dec 2011wot the hell ......... SE promised ICS even on their low end xperia phone then why Samsung is ... moreas i said below. Galaxy S uses RFS Format so it will not work good if they put ICS. only way is they got to change whole Format to EXT4 format to work without lag.
2011 Xperia uses EXT4 format so it wont have much problem as Galaxy S

**Galaxy S **
1. use "RFS" formet - this formet will not work good with latest Android
2. Samsung need to re-make with touch-wiz UI therefore OS require much higher memory than stock android.
3. Samsung Support Software update for Galaxy S
**Nexus S **
1. use "NEX4" formet - this formet work way faster and works good with latest Android
2. they use 100% Stock Android UI without customise launcher therefore OS does not require higher memory
3. Samsung made Nexus S but its Google's reference phone, therefore Google does all the update support.

another option is buy stock android phones like nexus one or nexus S or galaxy nexus.
w8 noo !! Nexus one also no update which is newer then 3GS and omg android stock phones have 1.5 year lifetime vs 1 year of galaxy S vs 2.5 years(still going) in iOS.
even ipod touch 3rd gen (32gb/64gb) can run latest apps and got iOS 5 rofl.
Galaxy player 5.0 stuck on gingerbread forever.
xda is there ? phone will be bricked soon haha.
seriously symbian even though its not state of the art gives support they rolled out Anna , Belle etc.
u say no apps bla bla , even ICS dont have apps atm it take another one year for ICS to develop.
Windows 7 can easily be a alternate choice for people who are sick of android or iOS.
finally Android phones = turn into brick after one year becuz they run old version and u install custom ROM (as ur own company ignores ur 2010 flasgship product)and again get bricked 2nd time.

So in this case Galaxy S is way older than 3GS my friend.
My eyes are fine with 3.5" screen,because i need a phone in my pocket not a brick that falls off from hands every time you grab it.
I own both,and if you do also,then you know i'm telling you the truth

if some guys can make a custome ICS for the galaxy s! how come "samsung" with all its resources cant make one for there own mobile??!! you made me sad samsung, as i see others like sone ericsson and HTC supports their customers more than you do!!! i used to think that samsung is the best android phones producers! but i think you changed this thought by your own hands!!!
