Galaxy S sales near 20 million.
I felt really disappointed that phones with similar specs get official ICS whereas Samsung's powerhouse phone is left at an orphanage.
Well, at least now we know that Samsung is considering whether it will take us back or not. That's a good sign!
plz ics for GT

Nokia would have been a very strong player if they embraced Android.
Seeing that i'm using the 7inch Tab,it wud be nice to have that sandwich.
cool.ilove my galaxy s.and i also want ics on it.thanks lovely samsung team.
well in my opinion galaxy s deserves the ICS update. not so sure about the tab, i think 2.3 is as far as it can go.
Samsung!!! I have both the Galaxy S ans S2!!
Also have the the P1000 Tab and the GT7500 10.1
Id be very very gratefull if the Galaxy S and Tab get the ICS update!!
They are still so awesome!!!!

I'm glad Nokia doesn't have problems like this. If only you guys bought a Nokia smartphone then you won't feel like a victim.
not bad a piece of good news
see?
that's what i've been talking about...
if LG could push their Optimus Black to run ICS,
then Samsung should be able to do the same to their Galaxy S series...
samsung is bad in supporting os systems, look at i8910HD, they stopped supporting symbian before the production line stopped with producing it! Shame...
Samsung has a really poor track record with their business practices. I hope not only they reverse their outrageous decision but they come up with a concrete credible promise regarding support of their future products. My advice to Samsung:
1- Focus on products. Only have one flagship high-end, mid range and entry level product for each product line. Stop dozens of variety of the same product.
2- Stop beating the dead horse. You do not have to support all the OSs in the world. Windows, Symbian are now irrelevant to mobile world.
3- Drop the custom skin TouchWiz, file system etc. If you really have something cool then write it as an application and do not re-invent a square wheel.
People are more interested in the latest Android version and they do not really want delays, excuses for not getting them.
4- Your software track record is really poor. Kies and major updates were very problematic. Learn something from the agile methodology, continues integration, automated tests etc, to bring the latest Anroid more quickly to your customers.
5- Publish concrete firm product support strategy as you have a bad reputation in this area. If the products have two years warranty, it should include software updates in that time frame.
Always but always give your flagship products a good send off by giving it a stable upgrade to a "major" android version. In this case stable ICS for Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab.
One comment on Google, it should really open up Android. I find it quite outrageous that all the manufacturers and app developers has to wait for Google to release a new version.
It should be genuinely open. Everybody should see the latest source code, able to contribute and test against the latest mile stones.
I am surprised that Google has not been pressed on this point more directly.
thecalmcritic, 27 Dec 2011Learn what is the right for "pro-choice" means unless what you've posted were mere /... moreby your logic, ALL businesses would fail. You sir, must try harder. :)
Who cares if it gets ICS. By the time it comes out we will all be upgrading to a Galaxy S 3.
Samsung is great!I wish i got the galaxy instead of my laggy LG 2x..
I dont know why SGS users are complaining for not getting the IC update. The phone already works really well on 2.3..If you want the latest and greatest, then buy the latest and greatest. :)
You know what happended when Apple updated the 3G/3GS.The phone got laggy and almost useless..
Ahh..Maybe thats Sammy's dark secret plan,update the SGS,make it slow,laggy,useless..Forcing their users to buy a new phone..muwahaha..
Galaxy S already has unofficial ICS, why would you want TouchWhiz ICS anyways?
What about samsung galaxy sl I 9003?
