Samsung should update the phone using the stock ICS its way better than touchwiz. I am running ICS on my captivate now and its smooth. Here is a link to a stable version on ICS on the captivate http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?s=fd3095917723b1a1505fc5ff01254954&t=1363760

Your all whining about the lack of support but in reality Samsung have supported this phone quite heavily. It was released with Eclair 2.1 and now resides on 2.3.6. Not exactly unsupported!!!!

what do you mean by adding new features to the phone u mean that the workers of sumsung can not make ics working on galaxy s and on the other hand you mean that XDA is better than sumsung that they actually make their ics and working fine on galaxy s without any lags. i have to buy new mobile phone to get ics and after two years i will have to buy another and every 2 years another i prefer to buy an iphone so i will get all the official updates

Anonymous, 28 Dec 2011value pack??? sgs need real ics update.. i brought it two months back nw i think of a new one ... moreUm, you bought a 20 month old design phone (SGS) and expect it to get an upgrade to an OS that wasn't even imagined at the time the phone was designed? Really? Or perhaps you mean you bought the SGSII, in which case, just chill, ICS will come next quarter.

you should learn from SONY ERICSSON, they update ALL their 2011 devices, not just the flagship, to ICS. now that is support!!!
